Tranquility

Run Run Run That is all I am thinking. I have no idea what I am running from, but I can feel it chasing me. No I'm not running fast enough. I can hear the leaves crunching under their feet getting closer. Not just closer, but faster. Much faster than my feet can carry me. Keep Running Run Faster I tell myself. The trees around me are already a blur. My eyes only focus on what is in front of me to keep me from running into anything. I push myself to run as fast as I possibly can. I can hear a waterfall somewhere around me, but I cannot stop, or I will be caught. I just hope that it isn't in front of me. Times like this are when I wish I had my wolf already. Tomorrow is my 18th birthday. I will have her then. NO! I scream in my head. My fear has become real. I quickly force my legs to stop. Thankfully, I stopped just in time. I look down to see how far down this cliff is. I see water, but I cannot tell how deep it really is or what lies underneath. A twig snaps. I freeze in place. It is close. Too close. I can feel it behind me. At this point I am not sure whether to risk it and jump or turn and face this monster. Then I feel it. Their breath touches the back of my neck. It instantly sends a cold chill down my spine and makes the hair on my arms stand up. Every ounce of my being sensing danger. I can hear it breathing in my ear. "I will see you seen darlin" it whispers in my ear. I turn to face it, but it's gone. "Samara" I turn to look nothing is there. "Samara, wake up" I slowly open my eyes to see my best friend standing over me "Happy birthday sleepy head" I smile at her. Of course she would remember. She has woke me up on my birthday every year since we were 6. "Evelyna" I say as she pulls me out of bed. I let her pull me while I stand up. I know she won't stop until I get up, so I might as well just get up. "Samara, you gotta get showered and dressed." "Yea, yea" I say as I let her lead me to the shower. The water is already on and I see clothes hanging on the hook behind the door. This means she has been here long enough to prepare my whole morning. Not that I mind, but it makes me wonder how much of my dream is known to her. The last time I had that dream she was spending the night. She ended up waking me because I was in such a panic. I've had the dream since I was ten and ended up getting lost while traveling with my parents to a territory we no longer go to. In fact we would get punished if we did go back there. It has been completely banned to go there. We call this place the cold zone. Not because of the weather. It is actually pretty warm there. But, from what I remember it was dark, and I was lost in the woods. A tall man found me. He picked me up so effortlessly. His skin was pale, his eyes were red. The one thing I remember most about him was how cold he was to the touch. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with him, the reason we don't go back there. Anyway, every time I have the dream the creature gets closer and closer. I slide off my pajamas and step into the shower. "It's perfect, thank you Evelyna." "Don't take too long in there. Your breakfast will be finished soon." She tells me as she walks out. I stand in the water letting it warm up my body and start to think about the dream. It felt different this time. Felt real. It was close enough to touch me, but didn't. The creature was definitely male. Creature? No. It was a man. No way it could've been human though. Humans cannot run that fast. Not sure it was a wolf either. We are fast, but they were gaining on me effortlessly. But, maybe it was due to not having my wolf yet. I keep thinking about this dream as I wash up. What did he mean by I'll see you soon? Is this dream some type of message or maybe my future. I shiver at the thought. I get out of the shower and dry my body and my hair. I put on my panties and bra. Then put on the jeans she picked out for me. They fit perfectly. I put on the belt. It matches perfectly. Jeans hug my hips perfectly and shape my ass just right. The jeans have silver rhinestones on the butt pockets and the color starts off slightly faded blue and gets darker as you go down my legs. I grab the shirt and put it on. It's a red silk tank top. It's form fitting so it shows all my curves as well. My boobs look amazing and aren't falling out. Which is a bonus. I have larger boobs so sometimes the outfit doesn't fit as well as I'd like it to and everything just falls out. It's supposed to be chilly today, so I walk to the closet and grab my half jacket and put it on. It is black leather and zips in the front. It's only long enough to cover my boobs while zipped. I leave it unzipped. I Put on socks and slide on my black leather boots with a 6 inch heel. I walk down stairs and make my way to the kitchen sitting at the table. Evelyna sets two plates in front of me. One for her and one for me. She made my favorite, steak, eggs and fried mashed potatoes. We both eat and decide to go to the mall, which is on the edge of town. At The Mall "Evelyna something doesn't feel right" She looks at me "Oh, stop being such a worry wort." I rub my head as if it would remove the feeling. "I'm sorry" "Ugh, don't be. it's probably just because you are getting ready to get your wolf. Now come on" she says as she pulls me into a clothing store. I don't think much of it. Maybe she is right. I could be getting my wolf. We begin sifting through racks of clothing. "Evelyna" I shouted across the store at her. "We must get these" I hold up two shirts one says "My best friend is bonkers" the other one saying "I'm bonkers". She laughs. "How did you even find those? We are most definitely getting thim, but your bonkers." I laugh and agree. We buy the shirts and walk out of the store. I wasn't watching where I was walking and bumped into someone. I look up ' I'm so sorry, I should have been paying attention." He looks down "You are quite oblivious aren't you girl?" I am appalled by his question I wasn't sure what to say. But his voice. I know that voice. From where though. I say I'm sorry again and Evelyna pulls me along. He just watches us walk away. We end up going to a few more stores and go to the movies. We watched a movie called Jumping Beans. It was about a bunch of people who ate some beans and couldn't stop jumping. We didn't watch the whole thing. Not sure why they even made a movie like that. We made is home in time for dinner. I stay with the Alpha and his family while my parents go and explore more territories. Unfortunately, it so happens they are gone again.But, the Alpha treats me like family and has planned something special for me tonight. Again something doesn't feel right. As I go to open the door I hear it. "Samara" I look around, it's just me and Evelyna. She didn't say anything. So who did. "Oh, Samara stop playing dumb. Its me Violet. Your wolf" I gasp "It's about time you showed up" She giggles. In the Crimson pack we have to shift once we get our wolf to make it official. So, I step back and allow Violet to take over. It's painful. I can feel every bone break and reassemble. It's quick thankfully. I land on all four. Evelynas jaw drops. My wolf is red. Crimson red to be exact. No one in our pack has had a pure crimson wolf in many years. Her eyes are as green as emeralds. It's a big change from my normal brown hair and hazel eyes. Violet begins to run and keeps running. We run for miles and stop outside the border. I can hear the water. This feels to familiar. I begin to panic. Violet doesn't understand, but this is exactly how my dream felt. Only I didn't have my wolf. I painfully go back to my human form focusing on being human. I stand there. Unfortunately, completely naked. I hear it. Leaves crunching. Panic completely fills me. Violet tries to calm me but it is not working. "I told you I would see you soon" A cold shiver goes down my spine.
