Episode 1
Selene's Pov
“Congratulations! But always remember that he was mine first. We are going to have to share him.”
Those were the words my husband's step sister had said on my wedding day.
I had laughed it off when she did, thinking it was just some sibling joke.
If only I had known she had meant every word she said, sexually too, I would have taken the warning seriously.
That would have greatly prepared me for what I saw the moment I stepped into my husband's office.
My heart stopped as I took in the scene before me.
“Nngh… ahhh.”
Matthew, my husband, was sweating profusely, his suit jacket was gone.
The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up, buttons completely undone.
A sheen of perspiration covered his chest as he f****d the girl bent over his desk.
His pants were down to the floor.
Their unbridled moans and the sound of skin slapping skin filled the office.
“Oh f**k! Matt, I’m so close…” she whimpered beneath him.
That voice.
I instantly recognized it as Vera's.
His step sister.
"Take that c**k," he groaned, his hands tightening on her hips, shoving his d**k inside her like a dog in heat.
He was sweating and licking his lips like he was having the time of his life.
“Yes. Faster," she was moaning, bent over the table with her skirt hicked up.
I felt lightheaded and nauseous.
“Oh, right there.”
Her cries as he pounded her was followed by his grunts of pleasure.
The folders I was holding—the one I was bringing him—clattered to the floor.
Their heads whipped towards my direction as I staggered back in shock.
“Selene?” Vera asked him with mock surprise, moaning right after.
"What is going on here?" I demanded in a small voice, filled with disbelief.
Both of them regarded me with indifference as if I had just ruined a moment.
They turned away.
“What are you doing here?” Matthew asked in a bored voice, still thrusting deep into Vera like my presence didn't matter.
My heart began to constrict.
Vera moaned again and the sound nearly made me almost lose my mind.
My lips parted.
Out came a blood-curdling scream that caused them both to freeze.
"What?" Matthew snapped, staring at me with eyes wide with shock.
At least he finally stopped.
“H-how in earth could you do this to me?” I mumbled as my eyes watered.
"Di what?" He asked as he stepped back, sliding his erect d**k out of her.
Vera groaned.
"We'll have to deal with her first baby," he said to her in the same voice he had used to tell me I love you this morning.
"Ok daddy," she answered in a childish voice that caused a pang in my heart.
The room started to spin and it took everything in me not to fall.
I refuse to believe this was the same man who had planted a chaste kiss on my forehead this morning.
This couldn't be the man who had promised to be back early and make me dinner.
“What do you want me to make?”
Foolish me had been beaming, face flushing when he had asked that question.
I had wrapped my hands around his waist as he smiled down at me.
“Preferably you," I had flirted, "but you could make Tuna casserole instead.”
Stepping out of the embrace, he had walked to the living area, grabbed his suitcase off the table and headed towards the door.
“Both might be on the menu,” he had replied with a wink.
And I had blushed, laughing even as he opened the door and left the house.
I had fallen into my usual morning routine of cleaning after his departure.
That was when I found the folders, the one he needed to close a important deal with a foreign investor by noon.
I had gathered it, prepared to drop it off and also give him a surprise.
And here he was cheating.
I gripped the door frame for support as the tears that I had been holding back fell.
Cascading over my cheeks, wetting my face and definitely ruining my make up.
Matthew put up his pants, zipping it as Vera began to arrange her dress.
I could never have been able to miss the triumphant smirk on her face.
“How long… How long have you two been together?” I managed to ask.
Matthew ignored me like I wasn’t there.
His eyes were glued to Vera—staring back sultrily at him—filled with lust.
He had never looked at me like that.
“Maybe a month… a year… or since high school. Who knows?”
She shrugged lazily.
“Matthew is pretty hot and I couldn’t resist."
Blood roared in my head as the pounding in my cerebellum accelerated.
My breathing gree ragged.
Is this a dream?
She implied they could have been together ever since high school.
It can't be true right?
How was that even possible?
They were siblings, even if not blood-related and a Vera had a fiancé for Pete's sake.
But that did nothing to stop the knots in my stomach from tightening.
It was becoming too hard to breathe.
"Come on, don't be like that and act like I didn't tell you," she said with a frown.
I swallowed.
"I told you, didn’t I?"
Her brows rose.
"At the wedding. Or did you forget?”
She smirked.
My mind travelled back to the wedding, Vera leaning down to whisper in my ears.
“Matthew is pretty good in bed. You don't know what a lucky bride you are!”
I hadn’t read too much into it.
Even though it felt weird to me, I simply brushed it off as a stupid joke.
Now who was the joke?
Fucking me!
They must have had a good laugh every time they f****d behind my back.
A wrecked sob escaped my mouth.
Oh God.
I had been so foolish.
The pain in my chest was unbearable now.
“Look, Selene, if you're just going to stand there and cry I advise you go home.”
“Allow her. She brought this on herself,“
Vera added with a hiss.
Tears blurred my vision as a sharp pain made its way through my chest.
“Why couldn’t you just stay home and keep being the clueless wife you are? You just had to spoil everything,” she scoffed.
My hands connected with her cheek in a fancy collaboration of sound and skin.
The impact made her stumble backwards with her eyes wide like saucers.
“Vera!”
Mathew was instantly at her side.
"Are you ok?" He asked, checking over her with his eyes and hand.
A dry scoff left my lips at the public display of attention between the disgusting duo.
His eyes lifted to mine.
"How dare you?" He bellowed.
Rage boiled deep in my stomach.
"No, how dare you?!" I screamed back.
I had given him years of my life, trusted him and he had chosen to just betray me.
He didn't deserve me.
He didn't deserve my sacrifices.
I took a deep breath then exhaled.
"Prepare the hand over papers," I began with head held high. "I want my company back from you and every other thing that you have gotten in my name."
I expected them to talk, an outrage, anything at all.
But they both looked at each other and burst into laughter.
My gaze rounded.
Had they gone mad?
"Return your company?" Matthew asked with raised brows.
"Yes," I nodded. "I don't want you or Vera managing any part of it anymore."
Matthew and I had been married for two years without a child of our own.
He had said working too much was taking a toll on my body and he was sure that was why I couldn't conceive yet.
I had believed him, handing over my company to him to solely manage while I chose to focus on myself.
Matthew stepped forward.
"Let me make sometjing clear to you, the company is mine, Selene. You gave it to me, willing signed every paper. I never forced you to do any of those."
“You can't do that.”
I tried to sound angry or firm but all that came out was a scared whisper.
"You can't ask for what you have given back, Selene," Vera sneered. "The company is now ours. You can leave if you want, but you will be leaving without a dime."
Realisation washed over me.
I stumbled backwards, shaking my head slowly, refusing to believe.
There must be a way.
"I'll get a divorce," I snapped in a shaky voice. "The company was mine before marriage. I'll be able to get it back."
Vera laughed.
"Aww, I like how gullible you are. Now I see why it was easy for Matthew to make sure you stayed without a child."
My brows shot up.
"What do you mean by that?"
A smug expression claimed her face.
"Poor Selene," she said with a tsk, "didn't know her husband was feeding her contraceptive and abortion pills."
My eyes nearly popped out of their socket.
"Yet she abandoned her career to be a stay at home wife. Such a clueless fool."
The tears began to fall again and I sniffled, wiping them away.
“Would you look at that? She's crying.”
She was enjoying this.
More tears poured down from my eyes as I stared at her and couldn't understand why she would even do this to me when all I have ever been was nice to her.
She came closer to me, glee in her eyes at the tears streaming down my face.
“Also, I hope you have realised how worthless you are to Matthew. You will always be nothing but his doormat and bed warmer. He never loved you and he never will. We just used you to acquire every single asset from your robust inheritance.”
“No, no,“ I shook my head.
I looked at my husband.
“Why would you do that? Why would you do all of this? I loved you!” I announced, stomping.
"Oh please," Vera spat.
Mathew stepped forward.
"That's enough Vera. She doesn't have to know all of that," he chipped in.
He cleared his throat and walked up to me, putting his hands on my shoulders.
I tried to get out of his hold so I could wipe my tears but his hands got firmer.
“Go home,” he said through gritted teeth.
I didn't need any more goading, having heard my fill from Vera.
Tears of anguish consumed me as I turned on my heel and headed for the elevator.
I waited for the doors closed before I broke down into tears.
What had just happened?
