Chapter 1
People always said that love was a mystery that came in different shapes and sizes. I always used to believe in true love, but can one really love another with their entire heart and love that other for the rest of their life?
So I thought love was just an illusion for fools and that love was just a myth. True love-could I really love someone until the day I die?
Can this possibly be true LOVE at first sight? I wouldn't believe in that even if I were a child.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by my manager, Nora. "Luke, are you listening to me or not?" She sounded frustrated.
She is a lady who is strict when it comes to her work. A force of nature herself, but luckily she understood me well.
"Yes, of course I'm listening," I said, but it was obvious to the naked eye that wasn't true. I continued to stare out the closed car window.
"Fine, Luke," she sounded almost defeated.
"Now, sir, should I cancel tomorrow's audition and take Silver Spine Industries's offer of filming an ad for Happier Days?" she questioned. Brushing her black-coated hair back, layering it on her shoulders.
"Yes, cancel it," I said firmly. Suddenly I asked, "What's Happier Days?" Before she was able to reply, "Cancel it as well," I said without hesitation.
She gave me a look-this wasn't anything new to her. "Sure thing, sir," she responded swiftly. "Also, Happier Days is a small company that looks like it's on the verge of going bankrupt."
I touched the ends of my short teal-colored hair slightly and turned to face her with my brilliant indigo-colored eyes. "Sure, find something else for me to do." I stated briefly. Caring not of problems that are not my own.
"Got it, sir," said Nora. No judgement in her eyes. I'm grateful she understands me so well, but I'll never say that out loud.
"Manager, do also remember tomorrow is my day off," I reminded her gently.
"Yeah, I won't forget, and try having some fun." She showed a friendly smile. Probably to hide the fact she forgot all about tomorrow. It was clear from our early exchange.
"I'll try, and thanks for driving me home." I looked at her. "No problem, Luke, take care." She drove off.
--
I entered my house. My mind is, is still filled with thoughts. Love is just merely an illusion that can't.
Be real.
