Blurb

Aria had always avoided the idea of love and relationships. To her peers, she may appear apathetic and strange. This had led her to be isolated from her peers. Rumors would also follow her every move at school. However, these had rarely bothered her. After all, she still have one very attractive friend by her side.

One day, her friend recommended a new dating game at school and urged Aria to play it. Despite Aria's initial disinterest with the concept of the game, she reluctantly tried to play it at home. What happens if an anti-social school girl gets accidentally transported inside a dating simulator as an "undesirable" villainess with obsessive "target" characters?

Rumors and Letters
A loud ringing of an alarm could be heard inside a dimly lit room of Miss Miranda's Dormitory for Girls. The continuous sound startled the sleeping teen lying on her bed while staring at the room's ceiling. Despite being awake, the teenage girl seemed to still be slightly unaware of the reality around her. She refused to move a single muscle out of her bed until one of the girls living inside the dormitory banged on her door due to the continuous alarm from her phone. "Aria, stop lazing about and turn off your alarm! You're going to wake every living soul inside this dorm. Don't make me report you to the dorm mother," a voice screamed from the other side of her door. "I'm up! You can stop screaming now." Reluctantly, Aria sat up and reached for her phone placed on the wooden bedside table. She sat staring contemplatively at her phone's screen before turning off the alarm and letting out a sigh. It was currently 7:30 in the morning. Only thirty minutes left to prepare for another day at school. There were no messages received in her phone. Quite frankly, it should be expected due to it being owned by a regular teenage social recluse with very little contact from her parents.  The girl rose from her bed and walked towards her wardrobe to obtain her school uniform. It consisted of a black mid length dress with a rounded flat collar. The fabric of the dress was made of polyester, which made the dress mostly prone to wrinkling. Putting on her school uniform, she wasted no more time in gathering her belongings such as her lunch and textbooks. By the time she went out of the door, the girl looked at her phone and saw that she only had fifteen minutes left to travel to her school. Thankfully, the dorm was only a ten minute walk from her school. Aria hurriedly went down the stairs while scrambling to make her messy, jet black hair look a little more presentable than a bird's nest. As she exit the dormitory, Aria came across a few girls from her school, Saint Joseph High. Some from the group of unknown girls slightly paused to stare at her as they began muttering to themselves a few interesting rumors about her that had been circulating in their school for a while now. "Was that the girl chasing after the president?" "I think so... She's the same girl that had been hanging around with Lianne, right?" "Yep, it's the same one. Honestly, she's such a leech! That girl is the reason why Lianne can't hang out with other people during lunchbreaks." "I bet you she's one of those people that always begs for attention." "I wonder how Lianne stand that girl. Literally, she's the only one that creeps me out by acting all gloomy at school. Is she a stalker or something?" "I don't know but be quiet or she might hear you!" Aria scoffed at their statements and continued to walk towards their school, while browsing through her playlist. She reached for her earphones inside her bag and began to listen to her playlist on a slightly louder volume to tune out the outside world. It was not her fault that she just doesn't relate to their topics when it comes to conversations. It's not like she can talk about her romantic life and daring adventures with friends around the city, which were practically nonexistent. As for the "president," it wasn't her fault that someone decided to slip an envelope through the small cracks of her locker that fell after she opened it. It also definitely wasn't her fault that the well-known older student, Aiden Greyson, was standing right beside her once she turned to throw the envelope away. To other people's eyes, it looked like she was handing a love letter of sorts to the senior, which resulted to rumors about her, "a creepy school girl chasing after the student council president's love," to become widely spread in the school. It had also resulted to Aiden's suspicious and slightly disgusted stares towards Aria. As she walked towards the direction of the school, Aria began to recount the events from the past two years. Rumors followed Aria ever since she entered her new school. With her messy looks and anti-social personality upon entering Saint Joseph High, people began to whisper unpleasant things about her. After her parents decided to live far away from each other to avoid future arguments, she was sent off to live alone in a small dorm near a new school. Her parents lived on different countries, while pursuing their respective careers away from each other. It was only a matter of time before one decides to live a completely new life with a different family. Aria had long expected that she would be abandoned by those who were supposed to love her. After that, she began losing all motivations to move forward in her life. Her severe lack of motivation had caused her to stop caring for herself. During the first months of living at Miss Miranda's Dormitory for Girls, her mother would sometimes visit her. However, those visits came to a halt once her mother received a job offer from a different country. Her mother had turned more vain with the opportunity she had been given. She started to be colder towards Aria and sneered towards her daughter's unkempt appearance during rare phone calls. After a few minutes of walking aimlessly, she finally reached her destination. Most students would talk along the corridors of Saint Joseph High, paying her no mind. For Aria, it was better to not draw any more unwanted attention to herself, considering her already unpleasant reputation amongst the student population. She passed the lockers and came across the friends of Aiden Greyson who stared at her with disgust. One particular guy with long grey hair sporting a black hoodie and anachronistic rimless grey sunglasses within the group of friends decided to confront her about the past event concerning their friend, Aiden. He grabbed Aria's arm pulling her towards the nearest empty classroom, which startled even some of those in their circle. Aria let out a small squeak of surprise as her earphones unplugged and dropped at the hallway. She was dragged inside an empty classroom with one of Aiden's closest friends. "Karson, you need to stop! You might actually hurt her," a guy with short grey hair and dazzling blue eyes followed the pair and exclaimed in panic. "Don't stop me Kristen! This b***h needs to know her boundaries. She can't just go around chasing our friend. You know he's the most private in all of us," the boy named Karson whispered aggressively to the other. "Brother, you need to calm down first. You're going to get in trouble!" Kristen sighed exasperatedly towards her brother, Kristen. "Fine," Karson reluctantly agreed blowing out a lock of his long grey hair as he cornered Aria in a room before letting go of her arm. "What is it?!" Aria asked as she immediately withdrew her hand from Karson and placed it close to her chest while rubbing circles on the sore patch of skin using her other hand to ease the pain. "Listen here. Get your creepy hands away from Aiden," Karson replied with his voice low enough to imply an underlying threat. "I don't even plan to be anywhere near any of you guys with rotten attitudes like yours," Aria snapped back and glared at the two grey haired brothers in front of her. "What the f**k did you just call us?" Karson growled and took a little step forward towards the girl. "Karson, calm down. Look. Aria, was it? Just stay away from our friend group. Not a lot of us are very level-headed too. It would do you good. Just hang out with Lianne or something. Let's go brother," an annoyed sigh came out from Kristen as he walked out with Karson outside of the empty classroom. Before leaving, Kristen looked at Aria and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. "How the hell does Lianne stand her? Her existence alone makes me annoyed," Karson mumbled to his older brother. As their figures left the room, Aria let out a big sigh of relief as she fell down to her knees while cradling her sore arm. Her heart was beating so fast from the thought that they might actually hurt her. This had been the first time someone had decided to get physical with her and it had scared her a lot. Usually, there would only be silent rumors that would follow her inside the school. She slightly shook as she forced herself to calm down in the corner of a dark and unused classroom. The school bell rang, indicating that the classes were starting, which startled her out of her panic. Aria forced herself to get up and look for her headphones near the corridor where they decided to drag her. She looked around to find her earphones on the floor near a garbage can. Aria picked up her headphones and pulled out her phone to check if they were still working. 'I'm already late anyways. What's a few more minutes? I'll just clean it later if it still works,' she thought to herself as she plugged the earphones to her phone and turned on her playlist. Thankfully, they were still working even after the harsh drop from a while ago. She rolled the cord of her earphones and placed it neatly inside her black leather satchel bag. She took a quick look at the time in her phone to find that she was already fifteen minutes late for her English class. Aria made her way to the classroom to be greeted by a frowning teacher in standing in from of a whiteboard. "Miss Ellis, how lovely of you to join us. Why were you late again this time?" the teacher stared at the tardy student inquiringly. "I'm sorry Professor Marielle. I woke up a bit later than usual," Aria replied with her head down and bangs covering half of her face. "By woke up later than usual, you mean that you ALWAYS wake up late. Just sit down, Miss Ellis. You're disturbing the class with your same lame excuses," Professor Marielle scoffed at her student. 'Then why do you even bother to ask?' thought Aria as she made her way to her seat in class. Lianne, her close friend and classmate, shot her a small comforting smile as she continued to jot down the current lectures. Aria sat and let out sigh, before smiling back at Lianne. The classes went on boring as they always were from English, to Calculus, and to Physics. The string of boring classes were broken by the school bell signifying that it was time for lunch. Students from her class scrambled to go near their friends and engage in long conversations and gossips about who's currently dating who in the school. "I heard a rumor that our school's best soccer player, Robin Perez, is possibly dating the best swimmer in our school, Maddison Ramirez!" "That actually sounds like a match made in heaven." "Did you hear that senior Karson Klaes is single again?" "Wait really?! Karson and Vanesa broke up? Do you think we have a chance?" "Oh god, I don't know. Hopefully." "Did you saw Hans and Krisha's make out session last night?" "That was so hot!" Aria could never relate to the girls' conversations, which was one of the reasons why she rarely talk in class. She not relating to their conversations is pretty understandable in her point of view. After all, Aria Maine Ellis grew up not witnessing the love between her parents. She could never really remember the time when her parents had a proper conversation with each other. They would often be busy living their own lives and neglecting their daughter at home, especially after Aria had reached the age of attending school. Every night, her father would be out drinking after work, while her mother could be seen hanging out with her office friends. During her childhood, Aria tried to gain her parents' attention. She would often work hard on school projects, especially when it involves writing and painting. The teachers had commended her skills and often called her a "prodigy" in different classes. After finishing a certain project, Aria would be waiting on the door with her precious artwork or poem in hand only to be turned down by her father. Aria's mother would sometimes praise her daughter, but she would mostly just ignore her daughter. It was truly a broken family from the start. Aria sighed tiredly as she stretched out her arms as she casually eavesdrop at the girls' conversations. A tap on a shoulder made her flinch in surprise and turn around to her that it's her friend, Lianne. Aria let out a small breath of relief and smiled at her friend. "Let's go to the roof, Aria. I cooked lots today, so we might have a few more extra even for the two of us," Lianne smiled while carrying her lunch bag. "Sure. I kind of want to really get out of here right now too," Aria responded and grabbed her lunch from her satchel bag together with her phone in hand. "C'mon! I want to show you something. You like games, right?" questioned Lianne "Yeah. Let's talk about it on the roof," she whispered to Lianne as she grabbed her hand gently as they dashed to the school roof.
