Elijah guided Sophia away from the entrance and toward the parking area.
Sophia's ears still rang with Lily's shouting.
“Don't you walk away from me!"
Coworkers kept watching. Some lifted their phones. Some whispered.
Sophia's cheeks burned.
Elijah didn't look back. He walked like a wall, blocking Lily's path without even touching her.
Lily followed a few steps, furious. “Who do you think you are? Let her go!"
Elijah stopped and turned.
His voice was cold. “You're causing a scene outside my company."
Lily scoffed. “Your company? So what? This is my daughter. I can discipline her."
Elijah's eyes narrowed. “Discipline is not violence."
Lily snapped, “Violence? I barely touched her."
Sophia's wrist still throbbed.
Elijah said calmly, “Touch her again and I'll call the police."
