“I’ll leave. That’s what you wanted right?” Leela looked at Chester’s unmoving back, holding back her tears. When the male stayed mute, she inhaled and mustered the courage to say the words that would break her. “I’m sorry if you hate me for my past, but my feelings for you have been sincere since day one. I will leave and never come back, just as you asked.”

With a heavy heart, she held the sob in and walked out of his house. Her steps were heavy and her heart was breaking into pieces, but she kept her head high as she got in the car and drove away. “I love you, Chet,” she whispered as the reflection of his house grew smaller and smaller in the rear mirror.

Chet looked at the space where her car was parked and cried silently. His heart told him to go after her, to stop her from leaving him, but his ego and anger won, so he stayed put. He cared about her, but the secrets she hid from him were something he could not accept.

“She’s Lionel’s little sister, I thought you knew,” the words his ex said rang in his ears like a bad omen. Hands clenched angrily, Chet looked at the family pictures on his wall, “I need to speak with Amaya,” as his eyes zeroed on his cousin’s face.

Loving someone and being loved by someone equally was something she desired since she was a child. Would her desires be fulfilled?
