Chapter Fifteen
Jungkook's smile is fading already. He's been smiling for good two hours and shaking hands with a lot of people who keeps on introducing themselves to him. He's a very welcoming person but he's too excited this time that he doesn't think he can still talk to them.
It's a business matter. Not really business since it's a birthday party of one of their investors but that's what all of them calls it because instead of family, a lot of business people are here. Greetings for the celebrant couldn't be heard because all of them are talking about what they should invest in and what kind of business should they be in next year.
Jungkook decided to go sit in the dark corner so that no one could easily see him. He's one of the most influencial businessman in the country and everyone in the business industry has his eyes on him because of his achievements despite of his young age.
He stared at his phone, twenty eight unread messages. A lot of message waiting to be opened by him but he's waiting for the one sent by that particular person, Kim Seokjin.
Jungkook hates himself. He hates how he's not even trying to make an effort to move on. He clearly should forget Seokjin since he has a family already. The spark of hope in Jungkook's system when he find out that Seokjin is not with the father is now gone, long gone.
It's not like he could force Seokjin to love him when he has somebody else. Also, it's not like he can take Taehyung's responsibility as a father of Sora. He loves the little girl and he loves Seokjin very much too but he's nowhere near a homewrecker.
That is the reason as to why he's confused that he still send that text to Seokjin. If anyting, he should entertain someone who could be his potential lifetime partner not someone who's already taken.
Kim Taehyung, COO of Kim's Group of Companies.
Of course, Jungkook immediately gathered informations about his love's love interest. He's visually pleasing, good family background and financially stable. He didn't know anything personal about him because searching his name up is creepy enough for Jungkook, those informations are enough for him.
Kim Yugyeom, his bestfriend. He sets Jungkook up on a date and the younger said that he will come but on the exact same day, it feels like it is still not right. That's why instead of going to the fancy restaurant that Yugyeom reserved for them, he just went to Sora's kindergarten to talk to her for awhile and that's when he saw Kim Taehyung.
Maybe, Jungkook still wants to make sure that Seokjin will be fine with Taehyung. When their family is already stable, that's the right time for Jungkook to finally move on- when he's sure that the very special person in his life is already happy.
Jungkook stood up as he loosened his neck tie running his fingers through his hair looking around for his secretary so that he could tell him that he will be going home. He needs to rest already, he doesn't think that he can still function properly tonight.
"Where is he?" Jungkook whispered.
He rolled his eyes just by thinking about his secretary, Jackson. He's a social butterfly who knows a lot of person and oh even if he doesn't know you, he can still make a conversation as if you've been together for five long years already.
Jungkook squinted his eyes and licked his lower lip as his patience is getting tested by his secretary.
He stopped in the middle wherein two males are happily talking to each other with wines in their hand. It is not a problem though, this is a party. Jungkook's breath starts to hitch as he saw the male leaned down giving a peck to the other male who looks utterly familiar to him.
He tilted his head angrily as he walked towards both male, close enough to get a good look but still has the distance for them not to notice his presence.
"Taehyung?"
He bit his lower lip as he realized that it's really Taehyung, father of Seokjin's child. Jungkook shut his eyes closed preventing himself to grab the other by his collar and just beat him up. Damn! He got the most beautiful man so why is he f*****g here kissing another person. He must be crazy!
"Mr. Jeon?"
He looks at the person who calls him and atleast let out a sigh of relief when he saw his secretary looking at him with his eyebrow raised.
"Im going home..."
Jungkook didn't wait for Jackson's response as he stormed out of the hall. He got inside his car and drove as fast as he can.
He went to the party straight from working with a lot of proposals and business meeting. He's exhausted and he badly needs a sleep the reason as to why he's asking himself whether or not should he knock in Seokjin's door.
Jungkook tilted his head to the right hissing, "Nevermind! It's eleven. They're asleep." He mumbled.
In the end, Jungkook cursed at himself for ringing the doorbell a couple of times while wishing that Seokjin is already asleep because he doesn't really know the reason why he's here.
He doesn't want to just show up and tell Seokjin that he saw Taehyung getting kissed by another man at that party. He doesn't want to sleep the older in a bad state, that's the least thing he wants to happen.
"Jungkook?"
Seokjin's puffy eyes widened in surprised when he saw the least person that he expected to be the one who's ringing the doorbell in eleven in the evening.
Jungkook didn't hesitate and just pulled Seokjin into a thight hug, a very thight one. Seokjin squirmed but Jungkook just buried his face on the crook of his neck.
The younger doesn't where did he got the courage to just pull the older into a thight hug considering how he chickened out just awhile ago. Maybe, it's the way how his Seokjin's eyes looks so puffy and his nose red probably a sign of crying too much.
"Why are you here, Ko.. Kookie?" Seokjin asked, his voice cracking.
This is what he needs, this is what he wants and this is what he surely deserves. Someone who will hug him with utmost care, someone who's afraid to break him and someone who treasures him more than he treasure himself.
Be with me, I'll never make you cry. Jungkook thought.
He wants to voice that out. He wants to letSeokjin knows that he's still more than willing to accept him but all of thatstayed in his mind and forever will be labeled as one of his unsaid thoughts. In fear of being rejected again
