Chapter Eight
It's Thursday and Seokjin is out early from work because both Yoongi and Jimin are there.
That's why he's now sitting in their sofa with his daughter next to him who's eating a popcorn while watching her favorite movie Big Hero 6.
"Uncle Kookie said he'll come back." Sora said now with a pout.
Seokjin kissed the top of his daughter's hand hugging her thight.
"Uncle Kook is busy, princess. He's here last night, right?" Seokjin said smiling to his daughter.
Sora blew the strands of hair blocking her eyesight and her mother cant help but to coo because of how cute she is. She looks dissapointed though.
Seokjin sighs as her daughter shoved a handful of popcorn in her mouth.
She's not allowed to eat it but Seokjin lets her because she's been asking for her Uncle Kookie since this morning and Seokjin will do anything just to make her stop.
Now that he thinks about it, he wonders if Sora is also missing her father. They met once and didnt happen again. It angers Seokjin a little bit. They were fine without Taehyung but he decided to show up and make his presence known now what? He left again. It will just confuse Sora as to why her father is not around when she clearly has one.
"Know what, Mama?" Sora looks up, her eyes now full of excitement.
"What, sweetheart?"
"Uncle Jungkookie said he'll buy a dress for me. A pretty one." She raised her brows smiling proudly.
Seokjin's heart flatters. He's greatful towards Jungkook but not because of the material things he can offer, it's the way he's giving Sora so much love and attention.
Seokjin stood up when he heard his phone rang. He picked it up not bother to stay away from his daughter when he saw that it's his older brother.
"Hello, hyung." He greeted.
"Oh! Hi. Sorry, I called just now."
Seokjin nods his head as if his older brother can see the gesture.
"I sent some money on your account."
"You should really stop sending us money, hyung."
His older brother, Kim Namjoon. He's working abroad as a college professor and he knows that he's also struggling there and he cant just take his hard-earned money.
"It's okay. I gotta go now. Use it well, Jin."
"Bye, hyung. I love you. Take care."
"Okay. Love you too. Tell Sora that I love and miss her." Namjoon said as he ended the call already.
Seokjin locked his phone when the doorbell suddenly rang causing his daughter to get all excited as she shouted,
"Uncle Jungkookie!" She beamed in excitement.
Seokjin stared at his daughter as she squeled once again when the doorbell rang again.
"Mama! Hurry up. Hurry!" She pulled her mother out of the sofa.
Seokjin chuckled as he nods his head trying to calm his daughter who's overly excited because of her Uncle Jungkook's arrival.
Seokjin opens the door and the little girl starts to clap her hands nonstop.
"Hi! Uncle Jung- oh!" She stops biting her lower lip, "It's Daddy." She said in a low voice.
Seokjin gulps down as he saw the father of his child smilin at them like showing up in a time like this is just normal considering that he left after meeting his daughter for the first time.
Taehyung leaned down to kiss Seokjin's cheeks and the older let out a faint smile at him.
Taehyung walked inside closing the door behind him before carrying his daughter in his arms kissing her temples for a couple of times.
"I missed you, baby girl." Taehyung whispered as he kissed Sora's both cheeks.
Seokjin just stood a few inches away from them as he saw his daughter's lips formed into a pout. He's not sure if its because she also missed her father or because she's expecting someone.
"Where'd chu go?" Sora asked struggling to complete her sentence.
Taehyung bit her lower lips now caressing his daughter's back in circurlar motion.
"Daddy has works, baby. Im sorry." Taehyung explained.
Seokjin shut his eyes closed as he heard his explanation. Is it really because of work? Cant he contact them just for once while at work? Seokjin is not being demanding, he just wants his daughter to feel that her father is finally with her.
Seokjin pulled his phone outside his pocket when it started to ring. He immediately answer the call walking inside the kitchen,
"Yes, Chim?"
"You're not answering our texts but can we still pick Sora up?
Seokjin snapped his fingers as he remembered that Yoongi and Jimin asked him if Sora can stay the night at them.
"Sorry, Chim. Taehyung is here and I guess he wants to spend some time with his daughter."
Seokjin bit the insides of his cheeks as he heard Jimin hissed on the other line.
"Hyung, he showed up again just like and you accepted him just like that?" Jimin said with pure irritation in his voice.
"Chim, let's give him a chance. It's fine."
The other scoffed and Seokjin can almost tell that the younger is rolling his eyes at him.
"Okay, fine. Let him leave you and come back anytime you want because hell! You're always ready to accept him."
Seokjin didnt even manage to defend himself when the younger alread ended the call causing him to take in a deep breathe.
He sat at the dining table putting his phone inside his pocket once again as he ran his fingers through his hair looking up.
Why does it seems like he's doing such a bad thing? When in fact, all he wants is a complete family for his daughter.
"Babe..."
Seokjin looks up to see Taehyung walking towards him stopping at his side to caress his shoulders with a smile on his face.
"Im sorry, I showed up just now." Taehyung said with an apologetic look.
"There's a lot of things going on in work and it's stressing me out, really. Im so sorry, babe." Taehyung leans down to kiss the top of his head.
Seokjin looks up to meet the younger's gaze.
He's deeply hurt because he somewhat can see it coming. Will he be like the old Seokjin again? The man that he's always taking for granted because he knows that he will accept him no matter what he does.
Seokjin is not okay with all of this. He has a lot of things to do and a broken heart is the least thing he needs.
Hence, he looks at the father of his child wih a smile and glossy eyes.
"It's okay, Tae...."
