Lizzie glared at Kevin, not backing down from the argument they had been repeating for the last hour. She pushed her hair out of her face with an impatient hand and gave the door frame a pound with the other hand. Immediately, she regretted the motion and rubbed her hand on the side of her hip to reduce the sting from the impact. “I don"t care if the detective is your friend or not, Kevin. He"s not seeing what"s going on. That crime scene looks like an accidental shooting about as much as this old house looks ready for me to move in.” Lizzie and Trisha were once again back at the old house. As the detectives had finished taking statements, they"d allowed the workers to return to their jobs, and things were continuing as they had been a few hours earlier as if nothing had happened. Emma
