Aurora discovers that Lake Vargynja, the Alpha she once depended on, is her fated mate.

After losing her parents in a tragic car accident at a young age, her uncle, the leader of their pack, took Aurora in. He raised her with care and protection, surrounding her with structure, guidance, and a steady presence she came to rely on.

Everything changes when Lake brings in a new Luna to help manage the pack, along with her daughter. The distance between them grows, and Aurora feels pushed aside, struggling to understand how the person she trusted most could move on without her.

His decision to marry and step away from her life shatters Aurora, leaving her to face a bond she never understood and a loss that cuts deeper than she expected.

MY UNCLE IS MY MATE.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Lake. I would concentrate next time in class and…” He cut me short as he smashed his lips on mine and kissed me. I felt a little dizzy. I felt good and hurriedly kissed him back. We greedily kissed, entwined our slippery tongues and sucked on each other. Lake carried me up in his arms, moaning, as my legs wrapped around his waist. “Ahhh…Lake.” I couldn’t stop kissing him. His lips felt warmer and sweeter than usual. It felt devouring, forbidden, but tasted wonderful. I felt a sweet sensation rush through my body and the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. The thought of Lake overcoming me in his bed made my wolf growl. His tongue went to the top of my breasts and slid up to my neck and licked me. “Ahhh… Ugh …” I shivered. “Lake.” I moaned loudly and held him tightly to myself. “Don't stop. Please, love.” His warm hands roam over the back of my upper body. He grabbed my ass and laid me down on the couch beside us earlier. He ripped off my upper uniform, my bra, exposing my bouncing breasts. He came closer, held my breasts and sucked them. “Lake. Ahh… give me more.” My eyes beamed with tears at Lake abandoning me. I didn't want to let go of him. We were both groaning and moaning in lust, like we hadn’t seen each other in ages. He said in between my breasts and breath on them. “You f*****g taste good.” I wrapped my legs around his waist again. My body moved on its own. I felt an enormous bulge between his legs the minute I ground myself to his bulge. Against my will. My lips were moving, begging Lake to take me as he wanted and ravish me. My wolf wanted him. The moment his scent hit me once more, everything inside me tightened. My body reacted before my mind could catch up. A rush of heat, a hunger that coiled low and deep, a need I had spent years not realizing I had. “Lake.” He sucked my breasts all over again, went down to my stomach and slid his wet tongue from my abdomen to my navel. He froze mid-movement, mid-breath, as if something inside him snapped. Then he jerked away from me with a sharp gasp. I stared, confused, watching him retreat, like he needed distance just to breathe. He sank onto the couch, elbows on his knees, both hands dragging over his face as he fought to pull his pheromones back under control. “Aurora…” His voice was low, almost a growl. “Cover yourself. Now.” I swallowed hard and grabbed the torn piece of my uniform, ripped open by him minutes ago, pulling it across my chest. My hands shook as I stared down at my legs still wrapped in black stockings. “What did I do?” I whispered after the heavy silence stretched too long. “Did I do something wrong?” “No.” The word came quickly, strained. “Then why are you—” “I can’t touch you.” He cut me off, voice rough. “I shouldn’t have. I lost control. I'm sorry.” My chest tightened. “Lost control? You kissed me, Lake. You were the one who—” “I know what I did.” He still wouldn’t look at me. “I shouldn’t have.” He muttered again. "This is so f*****g wrong." "What!" "You are my niece. I shouldn’t do this. “But I’m eighteen!” My voice cracked from the confusion, the hurt. “I'm not a child anymore.” “That’s not the point.” He finally lifted his head, and his green eyes were blazing with something desperate, fear, restraint twisted all together. “You don’t understand what this is, Aurora. What you do to me. I shouldn’t have touched you. I shouldn’t have let it get that far.” “That far?” I whispered, heat rushing to my face. “You pulled me to you. You kissed me like you couldn’t breathe without it. And now you’re calling it a mistake?” “It was a mistake.” He forced the words out. “It can’t happen again.” My stomach dropped. “Can’t,” I repeated softly, “or you don’t want it to?” He flinched a little. I didn’t know whether to feel angry or shattered. “Aurora, listen to me. Don’t drag this any further.” “Lake, what am I to you?!” I snapped. "Don’t use I'm your niece as an excuse, because I'm not." Does he know what he did to me that night? His head lifted slowly, green eyes, soft but guarded, like he already knew this conversation would cut deep. “What are you talking about?” His voice was low, controlled. He was pretending he didn’t know. Right? Pretending he hadn’t started this, and I hadn’t felt every single thing he tried to hide. “The last time you got drunk,” I said, my throat tightening, “you told me everything. You wanted me in your bed. You wanted me as your Luna. How you couldn’t wait for me to grow up. You said you’ve always wanted me. You—” His expression cracked. He let out a breath and dropped his gaze to the floor, his hair covering his face. “Lake,” I whispered and stepped closer. His eyes lifted to mine. Pity. Shock. I could hardly tell. And I knew it wasn’t one-sided. “Yes,” he mumbled. “I remember the things I said. And they were the truth.” He dragged a hand through his hair. “But you weren’t supposed to know that. Those were my private feelings. Mine. And I never intended for you to hear them.” “I do.” He stood quickly, avoiding my eyes. “And that’s why I’m admitting it was a mistake.” “Mistake?” I followed him, heat rising in my chest. “You think you can just walk away like nothing happened?” He stopped, jaw tightening. “What do you want from me, Aurora?” “You,” I said without hesitation. “I want you, Lake.” He swallowed hard. “I don’t care that you raised me. You are my uncle. I don’t care how wrong you think it is. You kissed me first. Touched me first. You wanted me long before I even understood what wanting someone felt like.” “Aurora…” He stepped closer, voice rough. “I’m supposed to protect you. I’m supposed to be better than this. You deserve a future with your mate—” “You are my mate,” I breathed. He froze. And now he knows I know. There wasn't turning back. “That’s not possible,” he finally said, voice rough. “You would’ve known. You would’ve felt it sooner.” “I did,” I whispered. “I just didn’t understand what it was.” His eyes widened as I continued. “I knew you were my mate, Lake,” I whispered. “I found out the night you got drunk.” My voice trembled, but I didn’t stop. “The spark between us. The blue moons. Like fireflies, circling us. That was the bond awakening. That was when everything finally made sense.” His face drained of color.
