Carl was setting up his case files when DS Nina Strong came into his office at the end of her shift. She leant across the desk and kissed him.
‘Heard you had some excitement today. Are you ready to come home or should I catch a cab?’
‘Grab a seat, sweetheart. I’ll be with you in a minute.’
While Carl finished setting up his case files, Nina took the opportunity to scroll through the emails on her iPhone.
‘Okay, sweetheart, let’s get out of here. We’ll be back soon enough. I have a briefing in the Incident Room first thing in the morning,’ said Carl.
‘Not bringing that file home with you?’
‘There’s not enough in it yet.’
