Summoned to another world?
*Ding!* *Ding!* The evening sunlight filtered through the glass window, dying the classroom in an orange color. There was only one person inside the classroom, a.k.a. Me. For a short introduction of myself: my name is Haruto Watanabe, a 2nd year student in Shuchiin High School. It is a prestigious school in the prefecture where just to get admitted, you need to be cream of the crops, so I am quite smart to get admitted, right? It might be weird for me to say so myself but…even in the looks department, I’m quite handsome. Short black hair and brown eyes alongside a sharp jawline. Although I do have bags under my eyes — I’m quite proud of them myself— hard earned medals earned by pulling all-nighters to play games or read manga. They give me a dead fish look, which is pretty cool in my opinion. Anyways, coming back to the matter at hand, hearing the chime that marked the end of the day, I stifled a yawn and stretched lightly, getting busy with packing my belongings. Class had been over for quite a while already, but I just finished counting the stars in my dreams. Yesterday was another all-nighter, at least I managed to catch up on some sleep after class, that was a good thing. I was in the go-home club anyways, so it didn’t matter. After I was done packing my stuff, I was about to get up when I heard footsteps approaching as well as sound of people conversing before the door to the classroom opened. A group of four students entered, wearing the same uniform as me, of course they would be wearing same uniform as me because they were my classmates but there was one small difference — the red arm band that they wore. It was the symbol of being a part of Student Council. They must have been busy with student council work to stay this late. If I were to give a short introduction for all of them, then… The blonde creature at the front was a guy named Hayato Hayama, the Student Council President. He’s a really nice guy, too much even. No, I’m not insulting him, it’s a great and commendable quality to possess, but we just don’t see each other in the eye. He would have a hard time finally entering the society. And after that is the long-haired Saki Kawasaki having long sky-blue hair tied up in a ponytail and an inherently angry face. She is also the Vice President of Student Council. Another thing I would like to say is, ‘Medium is premium’. And then Kakeru Tobe, orange hair that is most likely dyed, and Yumiko Miura, another blonde character. They are both also members of the Student Council. In between us, Miura has a crush on Hayato, while Tobe has a crush on Miura and funnily enough, both Hayato and Miura unaware of the crush that’s on them. Though I have to say its painfully obvious from an outsider’s point of view, considering I don’t even know them personally that much, other than occasional hello hi, and yet I figured that much out. Now Saki in the group of course seemed to be aware pg the matter but, how do I say this…she seems tired of all of it. In my own terminology, she has the straight man role in the group, I guess. Long story short, they are living their ‘youth’ to the fullest. What radiance if I must say. Hayato noticed me, and beamed a bright smile while speaking, “Oh if it isn’t Haruto. What are you still doing here?” Oh no, how bright! I could only just avoid and finish the conversation fast lest he purified someone like me with just his presence. “Yo, don’t mind me. I was just about to head home.” Saying so, I slumped my bag on my shoulder and began to walk. Hayato didn’t seem to mind, and just said goodbye to me, but Miura sure as hell seemed pissed. Seriously, if you have time to glare at me, better use it to confess to the guy already. On another note, why does she even hate me that much? I seriously have no idea. Saki and Tobe both also said their goodbyes to me, to which I just returned them and began to walk towards the door. Just when I reached the door, the room suddenly lit up brightly. On the ground and the ceiling, a huge glowing circle with complicated patterns appeared. I didn’t have time to think, and instantly jumped outside the classroom — or at least I tried to but I was a tad bit too late. In the end, I couldn’t escape the strange fate that was bestowed upon me. The glow increased to the point I couldn’t open my eyes, it felt like I was blinded. My body spun and I felt dizziness overcome me. I was sure I would die but…it took me quite some time to stabilize myself and I opened my eyes in a strange place after that. Really, where was this? The strange and complicated circle that I saw before was drawn on both the ceiling and the floor, much like before but the glow was slowly subsiding. Hayato, Miura, Saki, Tobe and me…we five were inside a white room with strange symbols. Miura and Tobe were on the ground, retching their lunch, while Saki and Hayato’s complexion also didn’t seem well. I guessed I must also be looking as bad, if not worse at the least. The sensation I, and most likely we, felt was like riding a jet roller coaster, just multiply it by a hundred or so. In simple words, it wasn’t pleasant and something I wouldn’t want to experience ever again. What was happening? I hoped for someone to appear now and reveal everything to be a prank, but reality was often cruel and disappointing. Much like how Santa never came no matter how much I wished for it as a kid, no such person appeared either. Instead, the one that appeared only made the dread in my heart bloom. It wasn’t actually the person that gave rise to this feeling, but the implications and the connections that my mind made of the situation. The person that appeared was a woman. She looked to be the same age as me. Her voluptuous body that was difficult for the white clothes she wore to hide complimented her golden hair and eyes. Each of her movements were graceful and there was a warm aura surrounding her. As much as I hoped against it… “Welcome, heroes from the other world!” …I really had been transported to another world.
