A Bountiful Bernhardt Send-off
On their last day at the Bernhardts, Liza and Germane were sound asleep when suddenly Germane was awakened by the clattering of a cart being rolled into their bedroom. Just after he woke Liza, they watched as some members of the household staff pulled aside their bed curtains, placed small, white over-bed tables in front of the two of them, and then placed bowls and dishes of a scrumptious-looking British-Lebanese-Egyptian breakfast on to the tables before them.
Germane cried out. “Wow, Grandma, this is a surprise!”
“Yes, it is, Child!”
Then Liza and Germane watched the staff members turning and walking towards the door, as one of them said, “Enjoy your breakfast and have a nice day.”
