Chapter Two: ALPHA’S ACADEMY.
SELENA'S POV.
**** I'm a male werewolf****
I stood before the mirror, studying my reflection carefully before leaving for Alpha’s Academy. For a moment, I almost didn’t recognise the person staring back at me. My soft black-blonde hair cascaded past my shoulders, shimmering like threads of gold beneath the morning light. Ocean-blue eyes gazed back at me through thick lashes, alive again… no longer dull with pain or defeat.
Slowly, I traced my fingers along my collarbone, feeling the gentle curve beneath my skin. It no longer looked fragile or hollow. Staying with Auren these past few days had done more than heal my body—it restored something I thought I had lost forever. Hope.
I picked up a tube of pink lipstick and applied it with a light touch to my lips, enhancing their natural colour. A faint smile tugged at the corners of my mouth. Today, I didn’t have to hide. I wiped away the fake bruise marks that once covered my face. No more pretending to be weak or ugly. No more disguising my beauty to survive cruelty.
A soft sigh escaped me.
Let’s hope I don’t drive too many male wolves insane today.
A knock sounded at the door.
“The driver is downstairs, Lady Selena,” an elderly woman announced gently. “Lady Auren asked me to escort you to the Alpha's Academy.”
Her words pulled me back to last night.
Auren’s voice echoed in my mind.
“As the late Alpha’s daughter, you must attend Alpha’s Academy. It will restore your honour and earn you the respect that was stolen from you.”
Honour and respect are some of the things I was denied for years. Even if the academy offered me nothing, I would still go.
Because they would be there.
Delilah and Chloe.
The memories burned like poison beneath my skin—how they stole my freedom, turned me into their servant, forced me to hide my true self… and worst of all, took what was meant to be mine. My mate and my wolf.
Rage surged through me before I could stop it. My palm slammed against the mirror cabinet, the sharp sound echoing through the room as fury tightened around my heart. I will surely hold them accountable for their actions.
“My lady… is something wrong?” the woman asked cautiously. “Do you not wish to go? I can inform Lady Auren if—”
I inhaled deeply, forcing the storm inside me to settle. I turned toward her, composing my expression.
“Oh, it’s nothing,” I said calmly. “I just remembered something.”
A faint, determined smile formed on my lips.
“Let’s go.” I took the lead out of the room.
The cool breeze from the luxury jeep brushed against my skin, yet my mind burned with a question that had haunted me for years.
Omega Aria sat quietly beside me, her aged hands folded on her lap. She was the oldest maid in the pack… the woman who raised Auren. If anyone knew the truth about my past, it was her.
My heartbeat quickened.
“I… I killed my parents when I was little, didn’t I?” My voice came out softer than I intended. “That was why I was cast out.”
Aria’s head snapped toward me instantly.
“No, child,” she said firmly, her eyes shining with unshed tears. “You did not kill anyone.”
Her words froze the air around me.
“Your parents were murdered,” she continued slowly. “By a powerful werewolf… one whose identity remains unknown.”
My breath hitched.
“It is considered sacred when a she-wolf gives birth to twins,” Aria said. “The Moon Goddess marks such children as extraordinary. The Alphas and elders believe twins born under her blessing possess strength great enough to challenge the balance of power within the pack.”Her voice trembled.
“And when you and Auren were born… the moon turned dark.”
A chill ran down my spine.
“The dark moon is an omen,” she whispered. “A warning that destiny has awakened.”
I swallowed hard, unable to look away.
“They feared your family,” Aria continued. “Feared that you would one day rule all packs. So they chose betrayal instead of loyalty.”
Tears streamed freely down her cheeks now.
“That night was chaotic. I risked my life to hide Auren while your mother fled with you, Selena. Days later… I found your parents’ bodies near the mountain.”
Her voice broke completely.
“I searched everywhere for you. Everywhere.” She covered her mouth, shaking. “But you were gone.”
Silence filled the jeep.
Twenty years of guilt… of hatred toward myself… shattered in a single moment.
“I’m so glad we finally found you,” she whispered. “After twenty years.”
Shock rooted me to my seat.
All this time… I had believed the lies. My foster sisters had poisoned my mind, forcing me to carry a crime that was never mine.
My hands clenched into fists.
“Do you know which Alphas killed them?” I asked, my voice sharp with rising fury.
Aria shook her head sadly. “No. Their identities were hidden.”
A cold determination settled deep within my chest.
“Then I will find them,” I said quietly.“Every single one.”
The jeep slowed and finally came to a stop before a massive building.
ALPHA’S ACADEMY stood boldly across the entrance. A soft breath escaped me.
This is the same academy where I had once been mocked, humiliated, and treated like nothing. Chloe had forced me to drop out after claiming I offended her pride.
My fingers brushed my now flawless face.
No scars, no ugly disguises, no broken girl.
No one would recognise me.
I stepped out of the jeep, walking with calm elegance toward the administration office.
Director Alexander looked up as I entered.
I met his gaze without hesitation.
“Good morning, Mr Alexander,” I said confidently. “I’m here to obtain an admission form.”
He stared at me, clearly surprised by my boldness.
Then his expression hardened.
“As a female werewolf addressing a male werewolf,” he said coldly, “you do not look directly into his eyes. You lower your voice. You sit at the edge of the chair.”
His gaze sharpened.
“You have much to learn.”
I slowly straightened, refusing to shrink under his authority.
Maybe the old Selena would have bowed her head. But she no longer exists.
He stared at me with strict authority, his expression stiff and unforgiving.
I smiled inwardly. Maybe he expects me to adjust to his words which I won't.
This man is as unreasonable as his shining bald head.
“Is all that really necessary?” I asked casually. “Can I just have the form?”
His eyes narrowed immediately.
“You clearly lack proper training,” he said coldly. “Next time, do not ask foolish questions.” He opened his drawer with irritation and pulled out a document.
“This is a suspension letter. Return after the full moon.”
He stretched the paper toward me.
I blinked, A suspension letter?
I wasn’t even a student yet!
This man was truly unbelievable.
I forced a polite smile, quickly thinking of a way out.
“Oh no, sir,” I said sweetly. “I’m actually here to collect an admission form for my brother. How can I issue a suspension letter to him? What has he done wrong?”
His suspicious gaze swept over me.
“I assumed you were applying for yourself. Why isn’t your brother here?”
My heartbeat skipped, but my smile didn’t falter.
“I only came to help him,” I replied smoothly. “He’ll come tomorrow himself.”
He studied me for a long moment before finally nodding.
“Good.”
He retained the form and handed me another document.
“This contains the address of the male werewolf hostel. The male academy operates separately from the female academy now—”
The rest of his words faded into meaningless echoes.
Male academy? Separate hostels?
I had studied here before.
When did everything change?
“The male and female academies are different now?” I asked, shock slipping through my calm mask. “How?”
He leaned back slightly, pleased to explain.
“The academy recently adopted a new policy due to certain… observations. Male and female werewolves now have separate lecture halls, separate hostels, and limited interaction. They will only meet during special events.”
My stomach tightened.
“So,” he continued, gesturing impatiently toward the door, “tell your brother to report to the male lecture hall tomorrow and move into the hostel immediately.”
I bit my lower lip as I turned away.
This is bad. Very bad.
How was I supposed to explain that I had no brother? That the form belonged to me — a female — not a male?
If I confessed now, he would definitely replace it with that ridiculous suspension letter. Which left me with only one option.
I have to pretend to be a male.
My thoughts were still racing when his voice stopped me.
“What is your brother’s name?”
My mind went completely blank.
Name?
I didn’t even prepare a fake name!
“Errr… mm… err…”
His face darkened.
“What?! How dumb are you? Must you think before answering such a simple question?”
“Auren!” I blurted out.
The moment the name left my mouth, regret followed.
His eyebrows shot upward.
“Auren? Since when does a male bear a female name?”
My heart nearly stopped.
“Er— no, sir!” I corrected quickly, forcing a bright smile. “I meant… his name is Jaxon.”
He stared at me intensely, as if peeling apart every lie I had spoken.
I lowered my head respectfully, grabbed the document, and hurried toward the door before another question could trap me.
“He will be here tomorrow,” I added quickly, escaping into the hallway.
The door shut behind me. I exhaled sharply.
“Congratulati
ons, Selena.
You just enrolled yourself into a male werewolf academy… under a fake identity.
And tomorrow—I officially became Jaxon.” I said to myself.
