Chapter 18 Ethel POV I woke up to the smell of French toast, coffee and scrambled eggs. When I opened my eyes, Lyke stood in front of me smiling with a tray in hand. “Wake up my sleepy head,” he said, kissing my hair. “Rise and shine.” He kissed me again before setting the tray beside me on the bed. The butterflies in my stomach seemed to celebrate as this was my first breakfast in bed. “You shouldn't have,” I said, biting into the soft toast. “Do you like it?” I nodded and let out a moan while he just sat there watching me eat. “I cook for myself and, since my taste buds are not functioning, you have to tell me when something tastes off, OK?” I nodded again. After a few minutes passed, he leaned closer. “Do you have plans for today?” I shook my head as I swallowed. “No, why?”
