14 Chapter Fourteen; Little Joleen's price.
"Time is ticking little Joleen" He whispered before moving his face back to her and
once again his hazel blue eyes consumed her
He then made his way to her already parted lips. 1Their lips joined again and she swore
it felt like a reunion she didn't know she needed. Her lips sat comfortably in his, his
lips were soft and this kiss felt magical. He went very slow and subtle though his palm
still covered her neck.
She shut her eyes and again her whole being became empty, only tasting his
Sweetness. She felt like she was floating. Maybe a princess in a Disney movie, only that
this man wasn't the ideal prince she imagined but yet he still made her body react in
ways she doubted an ideal prince could make her feel.
Their gentle kiss had come to an end, Joleen caught her breath, this whole thing was
too intense for her. She swallowed before she now opened her eyes and her eyes
showed pure deteat because she didn't mind being under his embrace for as long as
her feet could hold.
But she knew she couldn't, she knew better than to play with fire.
"I can't.. She whispered, even though her eyes transmitted something different. Even
though a fair part of her wanted whatever this was.
She saw him watch her carefully before taking his hands off her and leaving her side.
"Your choice was clear, you can leave now
He made his way to the middle of the room just beside his bed.
Joleen was on the train to her grandma's hospital again. She was able to sleep the
night before, but not as much as she would have preterred. She stayed up late
practicing her designs and when she was done, she still didn't find sleep anywhere
near her eyes.
Her little escape played repeatedly in her head before her scare of what could become
of her Grandma kicked in.
She arrived at the hospital within a couple of minutes to 11: AM. She went straight and
spent a couple of hours with her grandma even though she could barely move or
respond. She was awake this time but just partially. She read her a story and sang her
to sleep. she then went to see the doctors, they carefully explained the new
development which only sank her heart. Her grandma needed an almost sudden
surgery, she needed to pay some percentage of the money involved.
The doctor gave her a range of options to source for help, but none would be as fast
as she needed. She left the doctor and went to her grandma's hospital room. It was 6:
pm now, and she went back to her grandma's room feeling defeated, feeling like she
has failed her grandma. She reached for her grandma's brittle hands, held onto them
before resting her head just on the little space where her grandmother's body was not
Occupying
She didn't know how long she had stood there, but her tears had slightly soaked the
hospital bed. She pulled her head away from the bed, now looking at her grandma.
She lightly caressed her Grandma's hands.
"We can fight this: She said to her grandmother in a low tone even though she
doubted if she was conscious.
"I just need to come up with something, she said wiing her face of the tears that were
rolling down her cheek.
"T will come up with something. I promise I will, she said wiping her tears again.
Joleen's boot squeaked against the hallway marbles that led to the room of a man who
did nothing but hunt her thoughts. She was still very anxious, but this time she was
only anxious if what the result of what she was about to do would be.
She didn't walk as she use to when she was heading to his room, she walked swiftly
and one could tell she was very eager to get to her destination.
Knock knock, the door knocker against his door went.
She let her breath out, she knew she had to do this, for her grandma. She wanted to
make a deal with the devil and so help her God. She couldn't just watch her
grandmother suffer without doing anything. lf this was the only way, then she would
do it.
The door before her now opened halfway and Mr. Wayne's was in view.
"T didn't call for you, he said.
Twenty thousand dollars.. She said without giving it a thought.
Mr. Wayne didn't speak for a second so she went ahead and made herself clear,
"Twenty thousand dollars is my price;
