Carl stood in front of the team in the Incident Room on Tuesday morning, the day after Sophie’s birth. The intimate atmosphere of the previous night’s celebrations had given way to the reality of his working world.
Forensics had sent him an update on the Brock case, so he decided to start the briefing with their findings.
‘Forensics have matched the blood found on Whitaker’s clothing and in his car with Brock. They’ve also matched the DNA profile from the semen sample taken from her body with the profile extracted from the material in Whitaker’s bathroom.’ He scanned the page and located the line Dean Lang had highlighted. ‘Several of the pubic hairs found in Drake’s bedding appear to be Brock’s, so it looks like she was sharing his bed.’
