Day SevenIt was only five in the morning when Sally awoke. She lay for a while, wondering what she would say to her mother when they met later in the day. Though her parents had agreed to go along with the idea of her seeing Bill, she knew they still weren't happy with the situation – particularly her father. He would look for the slightest fault and compare him with Peter. It wasn't fair! Bill was a good man. She must make him see that. Glancing at Bill, she was tempted to wake him. But she knew how worried he had been yesterday, so why upset him all over again? Besides, he really needed to sleep. She climbed out of bed and went downstairs.
