Excerpt from In the Arms of the Devil
Anything Italics is a term that will be in a larger glossary of term's at the beginning. The two below are general terms that are used a bit through out the book. The other italics are names or nicknames.
Obloha: Safe Zone or Vault that the club is in the middle of. There are no killing's allowed in the middle of this zone and anyone who does kill someone in the middle of this zone faces off against ALL the gangs.
Lovci: Code name that refers to as cops.
He seemed twitchy Katia noticed as a couple people followed behind him but not too closely, towards the bathrooms. He was speaking or mouthing something through the haze. She knew that was her rouge dealer. A minute later Duncan one of her older bouncer's spoke through the ear piece.
"Kat, we got some snow." The word's making her angry as the voice cut off at the end. No one needed to say something else to her as she made her way from the bar towards the bathroom's. Her heels clicked as she moves through the throngs of people. She got stares as she passed. A smirk on her features as if she knew what they wanted. She did even as the rushing pump of music built up to her convergence at the bathrooms. The lights flickering and moving making her seem like she shifted and appeared. They wanted her but she only had one thing on her mind.
The kid dealing snow in her club.
The exit from the dance floor happened with a change in music. Though no one could really detect it but her. She had listened to this DJ so many times, she knew his traditions.
An inhale later and a kid about 18 was thrown at her feet by Casimir. A recently inducted kid (well 19 but she felt he was a kid) into the Leira. She didn't care that he was part of them, but gang affiliations were left the moment you clocked in. Luna de Lobas, Sanguine Brotherhood, Leira and Vali they all had people working for them working in the club. They were good workers but their loyalty at work was to Katia and Artem alone. Tonight showed it.
"Good work boy's." The packet was produced for her by Duncan, Casimir standing over the kid with his foot on the middle of his back so he didn't get up. The hound making her blink a couple times as she looked it over. The kid was sporting a bloody nose and what looked like a couple cracked finger's no doubt from attempting to run or something of the sort.
"Listen b***h I don't-" The crack came from Casimir. Fist's flying as she rose a hand up to the kid making him stop so he didn't kill the dealer before she got a chance to talk to him.
"Listen here kid. I don't have time for bullshit. I have grown up thing's to do. So what we are going to do is you are going to tell me who is telling you to sell in my club and then we are going to let you go before the lovci come to pick your dumb ass up and book you for an amount of product on you that's a felony." Katia squatted down in front of the male, the little baggy in front of his face as she offered a gentle smile. The kind that made the boy's behind the kid shudder for a moment.
She was never one for being kind so showing that gentle smile with eyes devoid of emotion. That scared everyone but the kid.
"No one. No one told me to sell here I am new. Someone said this was a good place to sell!" The new's wasn't something she was sure she believed but either way. The kid was leaving her club. Standing up she nodded to Duncan and Casimir who held the guy up by his arms and started to walk to the front door with him.
"Listen b***h I swear-" Whatever came out of his next was a garbled mess of word's. She had punched him square in the mouth. Casimir and Duncan dropped the male in a mess of limbs and blood.
The people on the dance floor parted for her, the music still played but everyone knew to stay out of the bouncers way. They watched her turn around grabbing onto his blue and red hair she dragged him up off the floor enough so that his face wasn't scraping against the concrete flooring of the club as she left with him. Everyone meshing back together as soon as she was gone like this whole thing never even happened.
"I am getting reallllll f*****g sick and tired of being called a b***h tonight." Eyes held anger now, venom coming out with her words. The doors were opened by Cas and Duncan allowing her to use her strength to throw him out the door of the club with out a shout of anger.
OOOOO. The collective noise was heard from everyone standing in line waiting to get into the club. She strode out of the club, a deep breath of fresh night air as she did a squat down next to the guy. Tanned arms folded over her knees, keeping her legs together so that she didn't flash everyone. All eyes on her of course, not that right now she minded.
"I want you to listen to me good." Licking her bottom lip slowly. She glanced around looking at everyone in line before turning her attention back to the man on the ground. Tanned arm moved, fingers moving to his throat applying pressure. It took him a moment, eyes blinking quickly as he tried to register what was going on. A women choking him? She seen the look in his eyes the more pressure she applied to his throat.
Now he started to claw at her wrist to try to get her off. Her other hand was extended over too Cas and Duncan. The the baggy was placed gently into her hand. Turning towards the male now they both stayed tight in her in case she might need some help.
"Once more I am going to ask this. If you don't answer me and then come back into this club again. No one is gonna find your body. You got that?" When he gave her a quick nod of her head she smiled that soulless smile. "Who told you to sell drugs in my f*****g club." She let him go a moment later, those eyes had gotten glassy and he almost started crying. She thought it was comical. Big and bad reduced to nothing now that he was fighting for his life.
A big heaving breath was taken as he curled onto his other side coughing some. She was sure he was trying to figure out how to speak. Everyone was quiet, silent watching the free show.
"No one." The reply came a moment later, at least for right now she believed him. Her hand flipped him back over, finger's digging into his pocket's looking for any more drug's or anything she might be able to use.
"Here is the deal-" She looked at his ID with a smirk. "Trevor, I am keeping your phone. No doubt with the money you made tonight you are going to be able to afford another phone. The drugs are mine. You are now here by black listed by my club. You come in here again and I will turn you over to the police and not lose a wink of sleep over it. If I found out you have lied to me. Ima show up and kill you in your sleep. Being new in town I wish someone would have told you that this is an oblohas. So we get each other?" Standing up Katia brushed her finger's over her dress smoothing the fabric back out. The kid nodded at her still dazed and confused like he was a turtle on its back.
