A mysterious voice towards the present
A flame that lights up a dark place stays alight no matter what happens around it, as if time and reality don't matter at all. Three people were present looking at the beautiful flame. -The latest attack by the elite left us on the brink of collapse. We need new guardians to protect the Soul Alive. –  Said a person in the darkness that lurked in the place. -It's true, but… Where should the venue be where the ritual will take place? –  Answered another person who was also in the place. It must be in South America. –  Said a third person. -Then let it be here in Lima, Peru. After all this is where the Soul Alive is. This ritual will keep the elite away for a while. –  Said the first person who started the talk. Lima is a fairly large city compared to the others in all of Peru and currently symbolizes the center of the country. It is full of cars that move at all hours, as well as buses that come and go, there is no specific order to move around and people know it. The people of Lima are kind people but the hectic pace of life they lead makes them very stressed. The social inequality is similar to that in many parts of the world and as in many parts of Latin America, there are vendors on the streets, as well as artists who offer their talented shows in exchange for a few coins from the public who decide to take a few minutes out of their lives to be entertained. Crime is the order of the day and if you are careless or like to flaunt valuable items on the street then you run the risk of being assaulted and with the constant migration of people from different countries thanks to the economy has been good in recent years, society is becoming more and more globalized. In certain parts of the city, you can meet Americans, Europeans, Venezuelans and people from different cultures. This really helps every country that progresses in every way and people do what they can to make everyone feel welcome. A young man in casual sports clothes, with a scar on his right cheek and a sad expression was walking down some street in the city of Lima, it was already dark. Right now, he felt as if he had lost everything and nothing at the same time. - My only love connection for as long as I can remember has been through the internet and I just got dumped. I'm 17 now and still haven't decided what to study in college. I have no friends despite being a very studious person and I was always among the top of my school. –  Thought the young boy as his sad gaze remained steadfast to just staring at the floor. - You look very pensive today, Sanctus. Aren't you planning to say hello today? –  Said an elderly man in hat and old clothes, similar to those of a homeless. -I'm very sorry, sir. I have a lot on my mind right now. –  Sanctus answered as he looked up. -Everyone has problems, some bigger than others. But it's not the size of the problem that matters, it's how much it affects us. You are a respectful and intelligent young man. What is it that distresses you so much? – said the gentleman sitting on a chair in the place. - The professors told me that thanks to my intellectual potential I could get into any university I wanted, but I just play video games during my vacations instead of applying to a university... – Sanctus answered. -Hmm... I understand. You're a little depressed today in particular. Maybe there is something that has awakened your negativity. Love problems? Maybe? –  Said the gentleman -Many things, sir. –  Sanctus answered. -Sometimes I walk here and when I see the bridge I decide to turn back. Should I consider jumping off the bridge? No... I want to live a better life and I wouldn't do that to my mother. She is the only person who has loved and cared for me since dad left us when I was only 5 years old. – Sanctus said inside his mind while manifesting a vacant stare. - Sometimes problems cause good people to make bad decisions, but I'll tell you something. There is no problem that others haven't solved before you have. –  Said the gentleman with a kind expression. -But... – Sanctus replied, unable to articulate another word. - Perhaps upon seeing me you must be wondering, what am I doing here, why haven't I solved my problems yet? You should have already thought upon seeing me that I’m a homeless, but young Sanctus, there are things it is better not to know about others and simply not to overthink. On the other hand, that would be a story for another day, for when you have solved your questions and mysteries. You are still young. You won't find all the answers on the internet. Maybe you should visit the library and do some reading in a peaceful place. –  Said the gentleman - there is a library a few blocks from here. That's a piece of advice I will take into account, thank you, sir. –  Sanctus replied with an expression that reflected confidence. - Remember this, young Sanctus... The light will always exist for those who are lost. Pain and troubles teach us to be better people. –  He said as he stood up from his chair. –  When we meet again, I know you will be a better person. –  He began to smile. -I thank you, sir. – Sanctus replied smiling. -Take care of yourself. –  Said the gentleman as he walked in the opposite direction from where Sanctus came from. -I met that man a few years ago. I saw him sitting in the same place as always and he spoke to me. I always wanted to bond with someone, no matter how hard I tried it just never happened and now the only thing I have left is maybe that someone special is willing to hold me with strong bonds that will never break. There are people who, even knowing that you would give everything for them... make you doubt in a horrible way without knowing if they will be with you today. Sometimes the things we most want to happen simply have a sad ending. But there is no time for regrets anymore. – Sanctus thought. -Life is often complicated in many ways, too much I would say. Even if you try to do the right thing you reach a point where you not only fail, but you also end up failing yourself. There are times when I wish I didn't have this kind of ability, sensing the intentions of others shouldn't be an out of the ordinary skill, but rather I would call it common sense, something important to denote. Sometimes some intentions are transformed into presences and that is something unique that I have been able to feel so far. Things that normal people would call imaginary. – Sanctus thought as he walked towards the library. A memory comes to Sanctus' mind. -Oh, little young man. You emanate a special aura; I can feel it coming from you. – Said the gentleman - Can you perceive things that others cannot? –  replied a young Sanctus. Back to the present. -So far, he still understands me no matter how many years go by. –  Sanctus thought as he smiled slightly. –  Well, here I am. It's the National Library of Lima – He said while standing in front of the library. Sanctus noticed that there was a sign posted at the entrance. The sign said that the hours of operation were Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM. -Apparently, I still have half an hour. It's already late after all. – Sanctus thought as he looked at the time on his cell phone. - Despite being a library, it can also become a scary place when there are no people. I doubt I'll find anything related to friendship problems or failed love affairs online. – Sanctus thought as he walked through the library. There were many pavilions with all kinds of information and books that may have been from the time the city of Lima itself was founded. The smell was a combination of dust and humidity. It was quite cold even though all the windows were closed. The place was so big that it seemed impossible to find something timely in only half an hour before the library closed. Suddenly all the lights in the place went out. - Oh God no, it’s a power outage? Did the library just shut down with me in it? Today is definitely not my day. – Sanctus said with a startled expression. - I feel a presence right now. A very strong presence. – Sanctus thought. A very powerful light illuminated the place. A book could be seen floating through the light. -Is that... A floating book? Am I dreaming or am I being pranked? – Sanctus thought without being able to move a single muscle in his body. - The magna Aelum has been revealed to you. Good luck. – Said a mysterious voice that seemed to come from that powerful light, in the same direction where the floating book was. The light spread throughout the place, absorbing everything in its path. Including Sanctus. ---------------------------------------------- Mini story: Author (Ren): Hello to all readers! I really appreciate you taking the time to read Soul Alive. Today I will tell you a little bit about the city of Lima. The city where I was born. Homeless: How about if I explain it better? Mr. Author. Author (Ren): That's fine with me. I'm sure you know the city very well. Homeless: The city of Lima is the capital of Peru, which is a country located in South America. Peru is characterized by a great biodiversity, good gastronomy, historical monuments and world-renowned monuments such as Machu Picchu. The city of Lima was originally known as The City of Kings, this is because it was the capital of the viceroyalty in Peru. Currently it is a city that is full of many historical places such as the National Library of Lima, which was created in 1821, the same year that independence was declared in Peru. Author (Ren): Thank you very much for the information, sir. I hope it was interesting for our readers and I hope one day you can visit my country!
