There was Mr Steve staring at her. How .. when did he even come into the orchard and who is that beside him.
“Good morning sir” Tasha greeted from where she was seated.
There was no response.
“Who is she” she heard the girl said.
From where Tasha was standing, she could see they both were assessing her. She left the he scene. She felt she saw the girl glare at her.
Back at her room. She went to freshen up immediately. She is shy that Steve is dressed like this. Who is that lady? She thought.
She went to the dining after that. The maids have already served the meal and she sat down to eat.
She retired to her room afterwards. She decided to call her family.
She called Daniella first. That gist for a long time. Daniella mentioned a male friend she met the week before. Daniella teased her about him being the one for her.
Daniella unlike her is very choosy when it comes to men. Tasha still can't believe she is a virgin. At 24? Daniella mentioned something about escaping s****l abuse as a child and this made her stay away from men in her younger days.
She had gone through therapy and now cleared of the memory. But she still have not found someone to trust. She is ready to give herself to a man now.
They had met in the university. Daniella though younger is very brained. As a result of her avoidance of men and peer pressure, she focused on her books on got into college earlier.
Although they were not in the same department, they stuck with each other during college days and now they are great friends. Tasha always wished Daniella will one day find a man that is worth her.
She called Aiden afterwards. Her baby was so happy to see her. He was looking so bright. They talked into the afternoon.
Soon she got off the calls and decided to catch a nap.
She did not know for how long she had been sleeping. She woke up to a knock on the door. It was getting dark.
She sprang up abruptly. Who could it be?
“Come in” she said and a maid entered.
“Miss Tasha, Mr Steve is waiting for you at the dining. It is time to eat” the maid said and bowed leaving the room.
Tasha opened her eyes. Steve? Waiting for her? She got up from the bed and yawned lightly.
She wore her floppy slippers and exited the room.
She walked into the dining slowly. The table was elegantly set. On the table are different varieties of meals, fruits and veggies. Mr Steve was at his usual spot and Becky sat closely beside him. They were chatting.
“Good afternoon sir” she greeted curtseying to Steve. He only nodded.
“Good day ma'am” she gestures at Becky who smiled at her.
“Hey” Becky cooed.
She found a sit and sat down. A maid came out as usual but she waved her off. Becky called the maid instead.
“Get me some grape wine” Becky said instead and the maid bowed and left.
“So you are Tasha right “ Becky said immediately looking at Tasha. Tasha was caught unawares.
“Yes ma'am “ Tasha said.
“Actually I am Becky and I am your boss's fiancee” Becky said and Steve shot Becky a stare. Tasha giggled in her head.
“Alright ma'am “ she replied.
“So what is your post in this house” Becky asked.
“Uhmmn… personal assistant.. “ Tasha said and Becky smiled.
“You don't look like one, you know, you look like a seductress “ Becky said and Tasha's eyes widened. What? Steve did not mutter any word.
The maid came back with a bottle of wine.
“And what on earth are you doing since? Come and add more fish here, I need more protein in my food” Becky demanded and the maid scuttled to her side and dropped the wine on the table.
Tasha watched as the maid dished the fish on Becky's food.
“Add some soup too” Becky commanded raspily and the maid obliged. Tasha looked in surprise. Then by accident, some soup spilled on Becky's dress.
“I am so sorry ma'am, please it a mistake” The maid pleaded.
The maid flinched opting to clean it with an handkerchief.
Becky's eyes was wide. She stood up immediately and slapped the maid hard.
