The alarm beeped loudly waking Tasha Baltimore. She would have turned it off like before but she just can't. Her four year old son is graduating kindergarten today and she needs to prepare.
She yawned loudly feeling tired. The day before has been hectic and today is going to be more. She was happy it was all for her son. She can do anything for him. He is her sweetheart.
Since she divorced with her ex husband three months before, she had felt more independent and free even though she never felt any form of partnership through out the marriage. She did not enjoy the marriage for a day.
She had married Declan McKenna because she got pregnant for him four years ago. They had been dating for more than a year when she found herself pregnant. It was clearly an unwanted pregnancy and none of them was expecting it.
She was so disappointed in her self. She had just finished her bachelor's degree and was hoping to have her master's degree before she clocked 22. But the pregnancy said otherwise.
Even though she was angry with herself for getting pregnant, she couldn't bring herself to abort it. She had wanted to become a single mother but Declan’s mother somehow found out and she insisted they both got married.
According to grandma Advira, her grandson would never be born out of wedlock. Her own parents were late and she had decided keeping the baby.
Declan was not serious with her. Like most relationships, he was just using her to pass time and she was so unlucky to conceive a child for him.
So the marriage was solely hers. She suffered loneliness, apathy and lack of love and even abuse sometimes . Declan really treated her like trash. He never for once revered her as a woman.
She snapped out of her thoughts as she packed some gift items into plastic bags. She is going to gift all of Aiden's teachers as a way of appreciation for helping care for her son from day one.
She packed some chicken stew into the fridge and dished some into Aiden's lunch bag. She also dished some into his plate before going to wake him.
The day before, she had a good time designing Aiden's dress. Her bestie, Daniella was with her making some last minutes preparations. Today is going to be a great day. She said to Aiden who could not agree more.
She dried his body with his blue towel after bathing him. She was fitting his shoes when Daniella came into the house.
“Hey graduation boy” Daniella squealed as she entered the house. Aiden was all set for the party. He was given his meal afterwards.
While Aiden dug into his meal of rice and chicken stew, Daniella leaned towards Tasha for a quiet chat.
“Is his dad coming?” She asked.
Tasha's countenance changed. She looks like a closed wound has been opened.
“I messaged him after he didn't pick my calls. Even if he doesn't value me, Aiden is his blood and he should at least value him”. Tasha said downcast.
“That is his problem” Daniella said. We are going to have a time of our lives today” she said and Tasha smiled.
