Mwaniki, the most hard-working man in Banana Village just died and his family who were dependent on him started suffering, sad.
Mwaniki was one of the best farmers in a village known as Banana. The name "Banana" was derived from its original character, a fruit. It was a village known of producing many bananas, almost every homestead had banana trees.
One day Mwaniki got up early to go to the farm to harvest bananas and take them to the market to sell them so he could buy his wife and two beautiful kids a good grilled bush meat for dinner.
As enthusiastic as he was, things didn't go as planned after he went to the market. The worst happened to him........
Mwaniki sold his bananas as planned and was ready to go home, so he said to himself... "since I have sold all the bananas and I have earned enough profit, why don't I use the profit to buy the bush meat I want to take to my family for dinner? ",as he was across the road, he saw the butchery where they sold fresh bush meat and decided to cross the busy road for the butchery.
As I said earlier, the worst happened... Mwaniki got hit by a truck and all that was left of him was just minced flesh and teeth and bones. The truck that hit him had escaped before the angry mob caught up with the driver, with the anger that was arousing between the crowds, he couldn't have survived the beating that was prepared for him.
A man of the people, gone just like that. What will the people tell his family? He was recognised by many before he was hit by the truck, many waved at him and others shouted his name in joy for he was known to be a peaceful man, a helper, a kind hearted man, a good farmer who had the best farm in the village, a man who never let any villager sleep hungry, a man who donated lots of bananaa for the less fortunate.
As horrible as his death sounds, there were haters all around him too as much as there was people who loved him. So many cried while others rejoiced. People who loved him had nominated him to be their village chief but political competitions don't always end well.
His wife and kids waited and waited for him but he never showed up. Night passed and his wife was so uneasy coz every person she called pretended not to know the whereabouts of Mwaniki get they knew what went on, news travels faster than air they say. His wife who was known as Kikuyu decided to sleep hoping he would show up by the morning since this wasn't typical of him not to come home or rather come home late...
