The eligibility definitions were shorter than Lucia expected.

That made them more dangerous.

There was no committee discretion hidden in the language, no family vote that could create a qualifying descendant, and no clause allowing either side to nominate whoever produced the easiest political answer. The mechanism used objective conditions tied to lineage, legal capacity, existing disqualifications, and the absence of conflicting alliance obligations.

Lucia made both counsel teams apply the criteria independently before comparing names.

A second alternative required an amendment that would itself reopen lender assumptions. A third had a conflict that was not realistically curable inside the current project window.

The exercise did something useful. It turned her father's instinct that there must be someone else into a schedule with actual consequences.

One current qualifying descendant remained on their side as well.

Lucia looked at his name on the shared screen.

Matteo was already looking at hers.

The room exhaled.

Lucia did not.

Paolo called at 6:11 with another consequence.

The utility subcontractor would honor the forty-six-hour replacement window only if Harbor Crown confirmed by noon that the parcel-control cure path was credible. It did not require completed authority by noon. It required a schedule the contractor could rely on.

That mattered because the marriage mechanism, even if eventually used, would not cure Sofia's certification by itself. Harbor Crown still needed the separate substitution and amendment work already staged.

Lucia put the timelines beside each other.

The lender wanted a continuity plan by noon.

The utility contractor wanted a credible cure schedule by noon.

Bellandi's staged substitution documents could be ready for joint review by ten.

Moretti's financing team could model the residual cures before nine.

The personal condition could not be scheduled like a filing.

Domenico saw the gap.

Counsel opened the provision.

It did not impose a same-day personal deadline. It described the conditions for the mechanism to operate and the consequences once they were satisfied. The external commercial clocks came from Harbor Crown's lender and contractor relationships, not from a clause ordering Lucia or Matteo to marry by noon.
