The incident
Hey, Wizard, it's dark in here. why don't you do something about it for us, we can see anything.
Alright, don't be so pushy man, give me a second.
the sound of rapidly turning paged fills the air. seconds later the room glows lightly around the heroes.
how's that, better?
better than being blind where are the others
obviously not here
what happened? one minute your checking out some necklace you found, the next, I'm picking myself up off the floor and all the lights being out.
I have no idea what just happened, I was just trying to clean the dirt off it and there was a sudden explosion of energy. give me a moment to think. ok we came in through the cave entrance. followed it down into this open chamber and there were four rooms in each corner of the room. We decided together, to Inspected them one at a time. each room we opened seemed to be living quarters, with no occupants. no inscriptions anywhere in the main chamber. nothing written on the doors, or anywhere else.
right.-said the warrior
after deciding that there was no perceivable threat to the group, we split up, one to each room. what did you find in your area?
nothing out of the ordinary.
there's a deafening silence as they stood in the middle of the room trying to get a grip on what had just happened to them.
well, the only thing I can come up with is to do it again and see what happens, should we give that a shot? -asked the wizard in a tone that made it clear he was hesitant to do it again. after all, they have lost two friends to the first accident.
no lets not do that just yet, lets look around, maybe the others are just somewhere else.
on the other side, our lost friends notice something important is absent..
Hey, elf, what did you find?
nothing, just an empty room, you?
I didn't find anything of consequence either. lets go check on the others, maybe they've found something. ill go grab the warrior, you go get the wizard.
The room is still well lit, as if nothing has changed for these two, searching the inner grounds of what would seem to be nothing but an ordinary cave that's been worked by the hands of others to serve as a dwelling place. the Cold damp atmosphere adds effect to the stillness of the area. quickly we find these two friends discovering that the other half of their party has gone missing. they begin pulling each room apart one part at a time to try to uncover the mystery behind their missing companions.
hey, Rogue, I think I found something over here!
What is it?
I have no clue. at a glance, it looks like a ring, but it's diameter is way to large to be worn on a finger. wait, there's something on the inner part of it, some kind of setting. do you have any water on you? I want to clean it up so I can give it a closer look. it's the only thing that stands out in any way here, there must be a clue of some sort that can lead us towards what just happened. -the elf said urgently
the rouge hands his elf friend the water from his bag. as he begins to pour water on the mystery item, some kind of window or door way of some sort opens before them.
what do you think it is? asked the rouge
the elf reached out his hand to touch the surface. he appeared to vanish before the rouges very eyes. frantically the rogue leaps forward to inspect and finds his friend standing on the other side of this manifested object. there's a moment of silence as he watches the image of his party member on the other side of this object. his friend waves him over, encouraging body language tells him it's safe. touching it the same way he saw it done before him, he's transferred to the other side alongside his friend.
Where did you two go! -asked the wizard
It was you two who vanished my friend -the elf responded
We found a strange object -said the rouge'
so did we- said the warrior
let me have a look at it -the wizard requested
it would seem as though these to objects are two parts of a whole. as he makes an attempt to put the ring on the pendent part of the necklace, there's a loud click. the room relit and a section in the wall of the cave turned to dry dirt in the shape of a doorway.
Shall we then? asked the rouge
always the first to move aren't you? asked the wizard sarcastically
ill handle this -said the warrior, as walked over to the wall and kicked down the dirt wall. at the collision the wall collapses with ease into a pile of dust.
Some kind of magic is responsible for that - stated the wizard
Clearly -said the Elf
the warrior continues through followed by the rouge, then our wizard friend with the elf at their backs.
