She was anxious; the people she had hired to trace Haven just went missing. They were supposed to report to her on a daily basis but they never showed for three days. She was curious about what Haven do all day and if she was working what kind of a job would make her have so many expensive cars. Helen even went to her apartment but it seemed like Haven never lived there. She knew her sister and it wasn't right. Was she really doing drugs?
She had always been curious ever since the night Haven went missing three years ago. No one really paid attention to Haven but they all liked it since everyone will just take it out on her. That day Helen was frustrated because she couldn't get a part she wanted in a drama. So she decided to come back home and release her stress through Haven but she wasn't home. She kept looking for her but she couldn't find her. Haven had no friends; she dropped out of school when she was in high school. No one knew the reason even until now. Ever since then their parents just kept their back on them and she and Heart find it easy to do the same since Haven was always the best among them.
Haven went missing for a week and when she showed up she was different. It was as if she was looking at someone else with Haven's face. She was scary and began to just disappear for days and come back. One day she just moved out of the house saying she got herself a job though no one really went to verify.
Ever since then Haven began to wear expensive clothes, you could tell her lifestyle really changed from before. But what she really did she still had no idea which is why she hired those men to find out. They had been reporting to her for two days before they went missing. One thing was for sure Haven was a player and was into girls. Where she lived, she still had no idea though she found out Haven loved to race which made sense about the money. She wasn't satisfied though.
Helen took the glass of juice she was having and took a sip. She placed it back on the table when the news suddenly caught her eyes.
Why were the men she hired dead on the news? They were widely known and wanted too. How did she not notice it? Who killed the three of them? Was it Haven? She was in big trouble if it was Haven. But if it was her then was her sister a killer? Is that how she had been living all these years? Just imagining the things she did to her made her regret. She had to get on Haven's good side before she got murdered herself.
She picked up her phone and called Heart her other sister.
'What is it?'
'Do you have Haven's number?'
'No, I don't. You should try mom. Why do you want it?'
'I was just curious, that's all. Bye.'
'Don't do anything stupid, bye,' Heart said and hung up.
The next thing she did was to call her mother who then gave her Haven's number.
She was going to call later and not now. Haven was always a suspicious person and she didn't want to get on her radar.
Gina was very worried. Someone really attempted to kill her boss though they met their fate. She still had no idea who tried to kill Haven but she was sure Haven knew and she was very calm about it. How could she be that calm? She knew her boss; she had a temper though she knew how to control it. If she wanted a person dead then she would just kill her and be done with it. But at the moment her boss was busy trying on clothes so that she could go on her third date with Amber. Haven was in love and she could tell. Gina was really happy for her but she wasn't supposed to be out there when something like that was happening. Of course Haven has shadow guards who protected her everywhere she goes without being noticed but what if someone succeeds in hurting her? She couldn't imagine a life without Haven getting on her nerves at all.
'How do I look?' Haven asked as she came out dressed in her new white jean trousers, white t-shirt and a jacket.
She looked lovely in it.
'That is it. Wear that,' Gina said.
'Thanks. Is the car ready?'
'Yes it is.'
'Good. I'm in a very happy mood so take the day off.'
'But...'
'No buts. I know there is that guy pursuing you. Go on a date with him, get laid and all. Or I will fire you!'
Haven wasn't joking. That was one scary thing about her. If she says do it then you should just do it. She knew everything which is why it was very difficult to bad mouth her.
'I will take the day off.'
'Unless it is a life or death situation, don't call me.'
'I will bear that in mind.'
'Good, let's see each other tomorrow morning with the good news,' Haven said and left her bedroom.
Gina followed her outside where Queen was waiting. How did Haven come up with Queen for the car? That car was a bossy metal. It listened to no one except Haven. How was she programmed?
'You need calm down Gina, or I will be calling the ambulance to fetch you,' Queen said showing those red lights.
Gina hated this car.
'I will keep it low,' she said.
'You heard her Gina. Now do what I ask of you before I get mad.'
'I will get right to it,' she said and watched as Queen left the mansion with her boss.
She sighed and went back inside. She met the chief maid Mary who was in her fifties. The woman was a hard working person.
'You should take her advice, she is a happy mood. It's rare to see her like that.'
'I know and I'm happy but those people...'
'They are all dead and won't be telling any tales. Just live your life. You are young, don't end up being old and alone like me,' Mary said.
'I'm sorry.'
'It's okay at least I have someone I help and who needs my help. She might be young but she is the best.'
'I do get what you are saying. I will find Tom to drive me back home.'
'That is for the best.'
Gina took Mary's advice, looked for Tom and had him take her home.
She had nothing to do at home, so she changed her clothes and went out. Just like what her boss had said, she was going to have some fun and there was one place that was good for that; Legacy club was always open 24/7.
When she arrived she showed her card and got inside. There was really no need for her to show it since they all knew her but she did. She wasn't here for business but for her own personal time.
She went to the V.I.P side; she wanted to assess the situation before she went down. The club was not that full since it was just before twelve in the afternoon. One of the servers came to her.
'Welcome Gina. What should I get you?'
'A martini with cherries,' she said.
'It's coming right up. Is the boss joining you?'
'No, she won't be here today.'
'Okay, I will be right back.'
She waited while looking through her phone before her martini came to her.
She drank two glasses before she decided to go back to soda. She didn't want to get too drunk, what if Haven called her?
'Do you mind if I join you?'
Gina was shocked to hear that question so she turned her head and saw a very tall and handsome man standing there.
She looked around and noticed that the other booths were empty and she was the only one there which meant that he was talking to her.
'Sure, make yourself comfortable,' she said and watched as the man sit.
He looked familiar but she wasn't really sure where she had seen him before. When he sat down the server brought a martini and a glass of whisky.
'This is for you,' he said passing the martini her way.
'Thank you,' she sad and took the glass.
She was going to play along, after all Haven told her to enjoy her day. Haven wouldn't have sent anyone to her probably right? That won't be Haven.
'You are Gina right?'
'Yes and who are you?' she asked.
'I'm Eric and it's not surprising you don't know me.'
'Why do you say so?' she asked.
'You meet a lot of people on a daily basis, it would be impossible to,' he said sipping his whisky.
Gina took a sip of her martini and wondered why this Eric was here.
'So what exactly do you want Eric?' she asked.
'What I want is you, Gina. All of you,' he said smiling.
What was going on? Suddenly her heart began to race very fast and she knew she was in huge trouble. It was going to be a long day.
....
Amber looked at herself for the hundredth time in the mirror and decided she was good. She left her bedroom and went downstairs where she met her mother.
'Mother, won't you be attending any of those events you usually do?'
'No pumpkin, I put them all on hold.'
'Why would you do that?' she asked as she descends the last step.
'My pumpkin is going on a date. I won't be feeling good if I just go there.'
'I'm an adult and it's not the first time I have been on a date.'
'I know but it's different and we all know it. So how about you let me be for now and next time I won't be in your hair,' she said hugging her.
'Fine, this is the last time.'
'I hope so and you look beautiful. But isn't it a bit too short?'
'Mom, it's a short. It won't be nice if it's a longer than that.'
'Aren't you just making excuses so that you can get to her?'
'You know me very well mother, I'm going to get on her nerves and this time she won't refuse me.'
'You are really putting your all on this?'
'I am.'
'Only if you put so much attention to your studies, I will be very proud,' her mom mocked her.
'Mom, please!'
'I will stop. And it seems your date is here,' her mother said as she heard the car honking outside.
'I have to go,' Amber said and kissed her mother.
Amber went to the door and so did her mother.
'Just how rich is your girlfriend Amber?' her mother asked as she noticed the car Haven came with.
'Very rich, mom just let her be please,' she said.
Amber watched as Haven came out of the Corvette and walked towards her. She looked magnificent; she really had a good choice when it came to partners. Too bad her ex boyfriend got snatched away by her ex best friend.
'You look beautiful today,' Haven said looking at her.
'Thank you,' she replied blushing.
'I can't believe this,' her mother said.
'So do you Rita,' Haven said.
'Don't flatter me. Just take her please,' she said.
Amber laughed and so did Haven.
'Let's go,' Amber said and hooked Haven.
Haven opened the car door for her and she got in. there was something different about this car but she couldn't pinpoint it exactly. Haven got in and looked at her.
'What is it?' she asked shyly.
'Where are we going today?'
'I almost forgot. Let's go to the amusement park.'
'Are you sure about that?'
'Yes, it's fun.'
'If you say so then I will go but which one exactly?'
'Ours,' she replied.
Amber watched as Haven drove the Corvette out of her home's compound and straight to the park.
It had always been her dream to go to the park and spend the day there. Taking the rides, play games, eat popcorn, have ice-cream and take pictures with her loved one.
It was just so sad since her ex boyfriend didn't like it. He loved clubbing more than that and she just went along since she was in love. But Haven was different. She let her choose what she wanted on their last date. The second one was beautiful; they watched a movie, took a drive and had a nice meal. This time she wanted to play and have a lot of fun with her. She was going to make sure that Haven forgets about her cruel family and just enjoy herself.
They arrived at the park and Haven parked her car and they both got out. Being the child of the owner came with a lot of privileges; all she had to do was just show her face and all doors will be opened; which is exactly what she did.
'That's nice,' Haven said as they were now inside.
'It is. Let's go and have some fun.'
'After you,' Haven said.
She thought Haven would be a scared cat but she was wrong. They took all the rides and she was just as calm as the waters. How was that possible?
She even went to the haunted house; that place no matter how many times she went there it scared the hell out of her every time but Haven was calm and helped her through. Whatever life she led must be hard if nothing scared her anymore and she love it. Having someone so fearless besides her was a blessing she was willing to embrace.
'Are you hungry?' Haven asked her.
'Yes, I am.'
'What do you want to eat?'
'I saw a stand with pies. I would like to have one,' Amber told Haven.
'Okay, just take me there.'
Amber took Haven to the pie stand were she picked a Russian pie and was shocked to see Haven picking two more.
She knew Haven eat but weren't this a lot?
'I can handle it,' Haven said as if she had read her mind.
Amber just looked down and wished the earth could just swallow her.
Haven bought two bottles of juice and they sat down. Amber was a bit shy to eat in front of Haven but Haven didn't seem to mind at all. Amber watched as Haven ate her pies and she ate hers too. After their short meal they continued with their date.
They went to play games. She wanted a doll and Haven got it for her. Why was she so good at everything? She even knew how to throw those fake knives straight to the target; she even knew how to properly shoot a gun. She was just perfect and made her wonder what exactly was Haven? She wouldn't be an assassin or something like that right? If she was, what would she do?
Haven held the dolls they had won while playing and went to the car.
'What else should we do?'
Amber looked at the time and said, 'let's go have dinner and then a walk.'
'Okay. Which restaurant do you want to go to?'
'The one we went to the first time.'
'Okay, let's go.'
Haven drove the car to the small restaurant they went on their first date and were welcomed warmly.
Like always, the meal was superb. They had a BBQ bacon pizza, shrimp soup with some rolls and white wine.
Haven paid for the meal and they left the restaurant for a drive.
'I need to go somewhere,' Amber told Haven.
'Where exactly do you want to go?'
'Legacy, I want to end our date there.'
'Why would you want to go there?'
'Please!'
'Okay, let's go there,' Haven agreed and changed the course for Legacy.
She had a huge motive. She wanted to show all those girls that flirted with Haven that she was taken now. She wanted to mark her territory and what better way to do it than to go to the deep sea to do it?
They arrived at the club and she noticed how they all respected her when she arrived. She didn't even show a card or paid anything but entered the club right away and they went to that booth she first saw Haven in. the reserved sign was removed and they sat comfortably while their drinks were coming.
'Why this place though?'
'I want to feel comfortable in your place and this is usually yours so....'
Haven smiled at her and she didn't ask why. She had a feeling that Haven had caught up the real reason why they were here.
'Come here,' Haven said instructing her to come to the side she was seated.
Amber didn't wait to be told twice but quickly went over there and sat by her side.
'I brought you something,' Haven said and took out a wrapped box out of her pocket.
Haven gave her the box and she accepted it happily and eagerly. She unwrap it and revealed the famous logo. It came from the famous and expensive jewelry shop. She opened it and there was the new eternal love series necklace. She knew how much it cost so she looked at Haven who just smiled at her.
'Thank you. I love it.'
'I'm glad you do. Should I put it on you or you will do it yourself?'
'Put it on for me please,' Amber said and gave Haven her back.
Amber felt sparks throughout her body as Haven grazed her skin as she put the necklace around her neck; Haven kissed her neck after putting the necklace on and stopped. She was doing it again; stopping midway when she really wanted her to go all the way.
Amber turned around and looked at Haven.
'You still don't like me that much?'
'I like you Amber a lot but I'm not a good person,' Haven said.
'I don't care. I want to be with you regardless of what you do or who you are.'
'What if I kill people, would you still feel the same?'
'I will. I believe that there will be a reason for you to do that. If I had sisters like yours I would be a real murderer probably locked in prison,' she said looking at Haven deep into her eyes.
Haven cupped her cheeks and kissed her lightly on her lips. Amber closed her eyes and let the kiss sink.
'Don't say I didn't warn you little one,' Haven said while looking at her.
'Just don't be with another girl. I will kill anyone who gets close to you. I'm a jealous girlfriend,' Amber warned and Haven responded by picking her up and settling her on her thighs.
'Good because I too will skin whoever flirts with you little one,' Haven said and kissed her deeply.
Amber smiled and knew a new beginning had begun for her
