LEGEND OF THE VIPER(COMPLETE)

CHAPTER 5

Amber wondered if she did anything wrong during the day. Haven never placed a finger on her and she was worried. She sank herself in the tub and let the hot water sooth her. She was still in the tub when her mother walked in.

'Mother, what are you doing here?'

'You were taking too long and i was worried. So how was your date?'

'It was fine, i guess.'

'Why do you say so?'

'I met her family and they are very cruel. She got sick after a fight with Heart. Mom did you know that cigars can cure a person?'

'I don't know that. Where did you see it?'

'I was surprised as well, i saw it. It was Haven.'

'That's new, will look into it. So apart from that was there anything exciting?'

'Her family thinks she is a drug dealer. Can you believe it?'

'What?' Ambers mom couldn't believe there were people like that.

'They saw her car and came to a conclusion. They look down on her too much.'

'Don't think too much about it. I can tell she is a good person, she is just private.'

'Yes, i noticed.'

'So did you do anything else?'

'We ate a nice restaurant and went for a drive and came back here,' she explained.

'That's all?'

'Yes, now can you understand why i look like this. She didn't even touch me mom.'

'She has her reasons after all that was your first date. Maybe she wants to take it slow,' her mom tried to explain but she just couldn't accept it. They shared a hot kiss that night, why couldn't she just do the same on their date?

'Maybe she just doesn't find me attractive enough or i am a kid.'

'You aren't baby. I can tell she likes you, just behave or else she will avoid you.'

'Okay mom.'

After the talk her mom left her and she was feeling better than before. She still have two more dates after all.

Gina was going crazy, she was sure someone was out to get her boss. Haven was just another normal person with a simple job to the outside world as she owned a club in her name. However she was the boss of an organization that had been existing for centuries, she was a very rich person and many covert her position.

She was the Viper, the mother of many. People worshipped her and do what she orders. She wanted to become like her but dying wasn't part of it.

She read through her emails and marked a few that were to be sent to Haven gor another review.

She was about to shut down her laptop when she received an email from a guy that worked at the bank, the Viper bank, the oldest and largest underground bank that only a few knew about. This guy had been pursuing her for a while now but she didn't want to mess her job which is why she rejects him every time.

'Please, be my date for the next meeting.'

'I can't, i have to be by her side.'

'She won't mind and i doubt she will need you there.'

'I will check with her first, i don't want to lose my job.'

'Okay then, tell me when you confirm.'

She logged off and put her laptop on top of the table before pulling the sheets over her head. It was going to be another big day tomorrow and she wanted to be fresh when the sun rises.

Haven kept her eyes closed as the meeting progressed. There were so many issues and it was becoming so annoying.

'Mother, what do you want us to do?' the lead priest asked.

She opened her eyes and saw everyone looking at her.

'I will solve this issue at once. Since everyone has something to say today, i will advise you to write your queries down. The Oracle will collect the papers later. I will personally look over them and get back to you. Keep up the good faith and don't tarnish the good name. For those who made it go three months the priests will see you so don't go anywhere,' she said as she stood up.

They all bided her farewell and she left.

When she arrived outside Gina was behind her. Gina removed the red robe she was wearing and put it in the car.

'Where should i take you?'

'I feel like shopping,' Haven answered.

'What about the ink?'

'I already made it. You should go and collect it from my house and give it to the priests,' Haven instructed.

'What about you?'

'Just drop me off with my belongings.'

'If you insist.'

Haven got inside the limo followed by Gina and they left. The hall was secretive and located in the sacred lands of the Viper clan. It was a place that one could never find if you were not permitted Jack drove her straight to the shopping mall and she got off.

'When should i come and pick you up, ma'am?'

'Just send her to me,' she said smiling at him.

'You mean her?' Tom asked.

'Yes, her. She will be fine on her own. You just rest and make sure Gina delivers the ink.'

'I will do so then, please enjoy,' Tom said and returned to the car.

Haven began to shop around and it felt relaxing after such a long day.

She went into a jewelry store and got attracted by a necklace. She loved it, it was simple and elegant.

'I want to buy this one,' she told the server who smiled at her.

'You have a good eye. That is part of our eternal love series,' the server told her and she smiled.

The name was kind of cliché but she loved it.

'I will take it,' she told the server and paid for the necklace.

Her necklace was given to her and she smiled at the server and took it. She wondered if Amber would like it. There was only one date left, so she decided to give the kid a gift.

She continued her shopping and realized that she was being followed. Who would follow her on such a day?

Haven left the mall and began to walk to a secluded area. The place had no surveillance so it was a good place.

'Show yourselves!' she called out and three men showed up after a minute.

'Why are you following me?'

'That doesn't matter. We are here to get rid of you since you have seen us,' the men said and she looked at them. Were they crazy?

'Since you are so eager how about you tell me who sent you. You are going to get rid of me anyway,' she said.

'That answer you will never get it,' the other man yelled at her.

Just like that they began to charge against her without any warning. She was a woman and yet this men were coming at her like lunatics. If someone was so eager to kill her then she was going to find out who was so daring.

She put her gift bag down and pulled out her twin Ignis daggers from her thighs and stood still. These were heirlooms that only a Viper can use. She began to throw them at the other two and watched them fall to the ground. They were groaning so loudly because of the pain and the poison that was laced on the daggers.

She looked at the man that was spouting nonsense earlier and said, 'i don't like you but i will not kill you yet. So tell me, who sent you?'

'I won't tell you because i will kill you,' the man said and charged towards her.

Instead of fighting him she scratched his face which made him stop.

'What did you just do?'

'I just poisoned you and you will die if i don't give you the antidote,' she told him but he didn't believe her.

It was after a minute when he start feeling the pain that he began to volunteer to tell her. He confessed everything while she listened. It was shocking that she felt very angry but she was very patient.

'Come out now!' Haven called out and Lee appeared.

'What should we do about him?' Lee asked her.

'Do whatever you must and get to the bottom of the story.'

'Will do so.'

After that Haven left the alley and began to walk towards the dead men. She pulled out her daggers and wiped them off with their clothes.

She picked up her gift bag and returned to the mall. She was there when she saw her coming. Her was her favorite car and she had found her. She was still lazy to find a name for the car which is why she had such a name.

The car parked right next to her and opened the driver's door. She went in and took a seat.

'It's good to see you,' Haven said as she pat the steering wheel.

'It's good to see you too Haven. You still haven't found a name for me yet?'

'What should i call you?'

'Whatever you want.'

'I will call you Queen,' Haven said and felt the car vibrating. She loved it.

'I love it.'

'I am glad you do.'

'Where should i take you now?'

'Lets go for a drive now, i am tired.'

'I will find a nice place and drive you there,' Queen said and Haven smiled

Queen was her favorite car, designed specifically for her after her re-birth as what she likes to call it instead of resurrection. It was reliable when she was tired. This was her dream car, a Corvette C6 but back then she could afford it but bow she could buy the whole company if she wanted.

Her life changed the day she was bite to death by that viper. Because of that bite she became the Viper, even the snakes had to worship her.

Life was so good for her now except that someone she knew and trusted was out to kill her. She was going to find that person and make sure he pays for everything.
