Caucus and his journey

Ross and Anna

When George and uncle Jha left the house to go visit the palace, Caucus was in a lot of pain. Due to some reason Anna wasn’t talking to him from the last day. 

Everyone went to sleep while Ross woke up the whole time to see if Caucus was doing right. 

In the morning, Caucus was a little better, but still he wasn’t able to teleport. Voilet and Migma helped him to the kitchen where Ross helped him drink the painkilling potion.

‘As uncle Jha has given me the responsibility to train you, I will be in charge of you today. Voilet and Migma you two will continue to concentrate to find your magic. There is no alternative for that and you Anna’, said Ross looking toward Anna when she interrupted, ‘ I know what I have to do, you don’t need to tell me’, said Anna rudely and went outside without drinking her share of potion.

Ross followed her outside, ‘have I done something wrong to you.’

Anna kept on walking ‘have I hurt you somehow that day, you haven’t talked with me and Caucus since then’, said Ross following her.

Anna stopped, ‘It’s not about Caucus, it’s about you’, said Anna walking toward her.

‘So, tell me where I am wrong, we will solve it together.’

‘You have completely changed Caucus, he wasn’t like this before, he used to think about others before himself, but now his father is out there in the king’s trap but instead of focusing on how he is going to fight against him, he is going out with you enjoying your company. He has completely forgot why he is here just because of you. You are ruining him and if you want to solve it, stop ruining his life’, said Anna and walked away from her.

Ross was there outside alone and numb, tears begun to roll from her eyes. Voilet and Migma came outside after having their share of potion. Ross trying to hide her tears said, ‘ now start to meditate, I know you will get your magic soon just like other.’

Migma went to his spot however Voilet saw tears in Ross’s eyes

‘Are you alright Ross’, he asked going toward her.

‘Yes, I just kind of miss uncle already’, said Ross forcing smile across her face.

‘I know it’s about Anna, she is just in transition so she is having a tough time controlling her anger, don’t mind her she may seem little tough from outside but she is just a small child inside.’,

‘I know, don’t worry about me. Just work hard for your magic we have to free Alex from the king’ said Ross and went inside.

Caucus was there smiling at her, Ross helped him to stand and got him inside the bedroom.

After helping him sleep she tried to go outside without even uttering a word whole time.

‘Don’t you want to talk about yesterday Ross?’, asked Caucus holding her hands

‘This is no time for talking, Caucus. You have to rest enough to heal soon, we don’t have much time to spare’, said Ross pulling her hands from his grip and went outside the room.

Tears were running down her eyes when she left the room. She wiped her tears and went outside for her fireball practice.

After their training everyone came back. The environment there was awkward. Ross was avoiding Caucus, Anna was avoiding Ross and Migma was avoiding all of them craving for magic inside himself. Ross made dinner for everyone. After dinner everyone went to sleep. Caucus grabbed Ross’s hand and took her outside.

‘This is not the right time to talk Caucus’, said she.

‘Why are you avoiding me, you are the best thing that ever happened to me, you are the one that I can lean for and share every darkest secret of mine. I can’t bear losing you now’, said Caucus pulling her toward him.

Ross started shedding tears, ‘I am ruining you Caucus. It would be better if we stop doing this.’

‘Who told you so? You repair me, you make me the person who I always wanted to be’, said Caucus holding her hands.

‘Let’s start again as a friend, good friend’, Ross pulled herself from Caucus and went inside.

Caucus sat outside broken and confused until he fell asleep there. The next thing he saw was George coming in a broom with all of the Avorians. They got there and jumped out of their sticks. Tears were running down from George’s eyes and he was bleeding from his head. Caucus looked around, there was no sign of uncle.

‘What happened to you’ Caucus went toward him, ‘and where is uncle Jha.’

By the time Anna, Ross, Voilet, and Migma were already outside, going toward George. George lifted his right hand, he was still carrying ashes from the palace. He untied his fists.

‘What is it and where is uncle’, Ross asked a little afraid this time.

‘He is no more with us’, said George crying taking that ash closer to his heart.

The news left all of them in agony. Ross’s feet went numb and she fell to the ground. Everything around her was getting darker. She didn’t shed a single drop of tear and laid there as a stone.

‘I am sorry’ George cried, ‘I am sorry, I couldn’t save him. He died in front of my eyes and I could do nothing.’

It began to rain heavily with every drop of tears Anna was shedding. George hide the ashes inside his clothes. Migma sat on the ground, he couldn’t shout and cry loudly but tears showed the pain he was going through.

Caucus was trembling in fear of not getting to see uncle again, he was murmuring to himself. Uncle Jha’s picture was running around his eyes, ‘they can’t do this to me’, he kept on saying to himself.

Voilet came to him and put his arm around, ‘It will be okay’ he tried to console him. The rain was washing every drop of tears from their eyes. They were still denying the fact that uncle Jha was gone when an Avorian said, ‘you have to be strong here, I have seen him smile even in his death. He was so sure that his children are able to defeat that king, that his smile didn’t even fade away when he was blazed by the fire. His trust for you was sparkling in his eyes, he sacrifices himself to save you so don’t let anything and anyone harm you again. The king must be coming for us here, he will kill every one of us if we don’t move now so it’s time for us to run.’

‘I am not running, I will fight him and kill him. I will take the revenge for my uncle’, said Ross standing from her place.

‘We will take the revenge, but this is not the right time for it. We have to hurry up he must be coming, I can hear his unicorn’, said the wizard

‘I am not stopping anyone, everyone can run but I won’t. He has to taste the pain that my uncle went through when he was dying’, shouted Ross.

Caucus went toward Ross and hugged her, ‘everything will be alright, we all are here for you.’

‘Nothing is alright, he was everything to me, my father, my mother, my teacher he was the reason I exist. I can’t handle this pain, you need to do something Caucus, kill me I can’t handle this, this is ruining me’, Ross began to cry, tears were falling down her eyes. 

Suddenly, the sound of unicorns coming toward them was heard. 

‘We have no time to run now, we have to do something’, exclaimed wizards.

‘Everyone stay connected to me’, said Caucus, ‘we will teleport now.’

‘You just came back from the trauma, we are more than hundred in here, it can ruin you’, said Voilet.

‘It’s not about me, it’s about us, we have to get out of here now, so it worth a try.’

He closed his eyes and thought about the only place where the king and his soldiers would never be able to catch them.

But they were still there, ‘The king is almost here’, said the wizard, ‘you have to focus more.’

Second attempt, third attempt but they were still there. King landed his unicorn, ‘you can’t run away from me’, laughed king coming toward him.

Caucus again closed his eyes and focused and focused. They disappeared from there.
