When they opened their eyes they were at no light reason. There was Dark and cold all over. Witch and wizards created fire around them from there magic.
‘I couldn’t think of any other place safer than this’, said Caucus
‘This is safe, but I thought various human eater creature live here’, said the chief
‘They are on their hibernation, so there is no threat for us’
Ross was still in trauma. Caucus kept remaining ashes on a jar. ‘We couldn’t bid him goodbye, but we can give him nice funeral’, said Caucus holding the jar. Caucus collected some firewood from teleportation to different forests and put the jar in it. Everyone was standing around. Caucus lifted a firewood and ignited the tip of it. ‘You were the closest person uncle Jha ever had, so it is your right to bid him goodbye’, said Caucus handing Ross the stick with fire. Ross went toward it with her eyes filled with tears. The moment of their first meeting, those times when he used to teach her language, the time when he taught her to walk, the moment when he taught her to do magic, the moment when he used to hold her hand and disappear, every moment begin to dance around her eyes.
‘I don’t know who was my dad or my mom, but I know one thing none of them would have taken care of me like you. You taught me to survive and after you are gone, I don’t know how am I going to. But I promise you I won’t let your sacrifice go in vain. I will fight with this pain, I will show you I can survive without you’, cried Ross in pain burning the woods holding his ashes. Tears were flowing down from everyone eyes. Snow began to fall there with Anna’s tears. She was feeling sorry for her and regretted everything she said to her back there.
George came to Caucus’s
‘Don’t avoid her.’
‘What do you mean’, said Caucus.
‘I know she told you to start over being a friend again, but that is just stupidity Anna started.’
‘How do you know about that, it was just between us.’
‘I can read your mind, not only you, I can read everyone mind out there.’
‘Is it some sort of magic.’
‘No, it’s an ability which has nothing to do with magic. There is no mark in my body.’
‘when does it started.’
‘It’s not important right now, anything that is important is you to go there and hold Ross, help her fight the pain she is going through, I can read her mind, and the only thing that is holding her up after uncle is you’ said George.
Caucus went toward Ross. He hugged her, ‘I will be there for you, in your pain and in your happiness. Let me help you. don’t push me away’, said he.
Ross began to cry leaning on his shoulder, ‘ please, be with me, no matter how much I push you, come back to me. Help me, I need you.’
All the witch and wizards got together and started making ice blocks. Soon there was a huge and nice igloo in front of them enough for everyone to live. For bed they used hay which was collected by Caucus, Voilet, Migma, and George using teleport back and forth from a forest.
Soon everything was set up, there was a house, there was a bed but the challenge was food. They had to get a constant supply of food rather than teleportation. Caucus was already exhausted from frequent teleportation and he wasn’t recovered completely from previous trauma. The painkilling potion had stopped showing it’s effect, so pain started in his bones again.
‘We have to make painkilling potion before pain starts to increase again’, said Anna.
‘We need herbs to make it. We cannot find herb in this area and Caucus isn’t in the condition to teleport’, said the witch.
‘There has to be something.’
‘There was a myth that oceans in no light region contain medicinal herbs which are more powerful than other reason as it has to struggle growing in coldest reason of this world. But I don’t know if there are oceans here.’
Anna looked around in the light of the fire, there was snow all over. She wiped snow under her feet. The next thing she saw was an ocean beneath the sheet of ice. Not only oceans she could see larger fishes down there which could completely solve the food supply problem.
‘There is an ocean down there’, she shouted all the Avorians and her friends gathered there.
‘There is the ocean down there, and there are fishes too, it can completely solve our problem’, said Anna as a thirsty traveler finding water in a desert.
‘Yes there it is, but we Avorians can’t swim in the water. Can you swim.’
‘I came down here when I was 6 how can you expect me to swim’, said Anna.
‘Well, someone has to swim, otherwise, there will be resources and we can’t even use it’, said the witch.
‘George was 10 when he came here, he must know how to swim’, said Anna and called George.
George went there, ‘Don’t expect me to swim, I once tried it when I was in the earth and I drown, my father have to jump in the pool to save me.’
‘Wait, how did you knew we are going to ask you to swim’, said Anna.
‘I read it from your mind’, said George
‘Didn’t you know, he is a psychic’, said one of the witch.
‘That means you have your magic now?’
‘No, it is a powerful ability but it doesn’t have anything magical, so it doesn’t count as magic’, said that witch.
‘Let me warn you, if you ever try to read my mind again I will put lightening over you’, said Anna pulling George away from the Avorians.
George: I don’t need to, I know everything already.
Anna: No, you don’t. My mind is not like some open book that you can read anytime
George: It is for me, I know you used to had a crush on Caucus before, you kind of poured your anger to Ross and now you are regretting what you did.
Anna: Don’t tell me you told Caucus about it.
George: I have to remember.
George put his hand on his forehead trying to remember.
Anna: You are giving me a heart attack.
George: I am sorry, but I only said the topic, the whole story is still a secret.
Anna: What do you mean by topic?
George: I kind of tell him that Ross is avoiding him because of your stupidity and that’s it.
Anna: How can you do that to me.
George: but if he comes to me asking about your stupidity I will make up some story to tell him.
‘You better do that’, said Anna hitting him in his back.
‘George I kind of needed your favour, I wanted to apologize Ross about earlier. I need you to read her mind and tell me how much angry she is with me’, said Anna looking at him.
George: She isn’t angry with you, she just thought you scold her because you care about Caucus. This whole time she was blaming herself for ruining Caucus’s life. So if you want to do something better for her tell her she is the one who made Caucus happier than he ever was. But give her some time to grief over her uncle. You can tell her that later.
Anna: (sobbing) I don’t know what to say, but I really hate myself.
Voilet came over there. ‘Caucus pain is increasing, we need those herbs now, I cannot see him cry anymore’, said he.
‘Ross knows how to swim, I read it in her mind’ said George.
‘How can we ask Ross for that, in this condition’, said Anna.
‘I know but we have to, and I know for sure, she definitely wants to do that for Caucus.’
George went toward Ross while Avorians with their magic created a big hole in the ice sheet.
After knowing Caucus’s condition Ross without having any second thought went over the hole. Her eyes were swollen out of crying, her lips were dry but she didn’t think for a second before jumping into the cold water.
