Thursday, July 23 It feels like time has actually slowed to a stop. I am so looking forward to my excursion to Key West with Mac that I can hardly think of anything else. Marina called me out on it last night. We were out with some friends, and I wasn’t truly engaged in the conversation because my mind kept wandering back to Mac. When Trixie asked me how I was settling into my new job, and I responded merely that it was “okay,” Marina told me in no uncertain terms that I needed to snap out of it and start paying attention to my friends. I think her exact words were that it was time to “stop mooning over your billionaire boyfriend and pay some attention to the people who really matter.” The words were uncharacteristically harsh, and it makes me wonder why she lashed out.
