Sam left the safety of home to be on her own.She felt like something was missing. She felt she needed to find out who she was since she was beaten  most of her life she didn't know who she was or if she wanted to be with Josey. She felt a pull yes but she was human and never been with anyone how did she know what she was feeling. Josey let her go hopeing she wouldn't be gone long she wanted Sam to choose her.
