Chapter 24 January 15, 1945 Dear Aggie, Gosh, I wish you were around so we could talk and talk and talk. So much has happened in the past few weeks; it’ll take way to much paper to tell you. Christmas seemed pretty dull after last year. No Santa and elves. We seasoned staff helped the student nurses and patients by doing some singing and elf stuff like last year but it wasn’t as silly and fun as last year. I actually volunteered to work because one of the newer nurses who was scheduled has two little ones. I figured she needed to be home more than I did. Johnny came to get me the next day to celebrate a late Christmas with his family. Sound familiar? We sure missed not sharing the fun time with you and Cy like last year.
