VI. Lidia She is busy with Lidia’s baby the whole next week. Lidia needs to look for a job. Laureano says she can stay with the baby in the attic bedroom if she will find a job and keep it. So here they are again with diapers and bottles and soggy sheets. Little Beatrice downstairs says she will watch the baby together with her own; but Rosa isn’t very sure of her so keeps about the place watching. The Guatemalan baby has been swaddled since birth, while Lidia’s baby is climbing out of strollers and cribs, and cruising around the room holding onto walls.
