Chapter 12

Kyle opened his mouth first, "I know that I grew up with Austin and this is my real name. I don't remember much of being taken to the Academy but I know Order Garrett brought me personally. I was a guard but I still have no memory of anything in between that. It has all been coming back very fragmented and slowly."     Dimitra nodded then turned to me raising an eyebrow for me to speak.     "I know my real name is Austin and I was royalty. I was taken to the Academy  when I was fifteen but I don't know who brought me. I met Order Garrett when I first arrived and he told me I was to join them when destiny set? I had a set of guards but I don't remember who they are yet. I know my home burned down and I believe my mother died that is how I got most of my scars. You hid me in your home for a year before someone broke in and kidn*pped me."     Dimitra sighed and motioned us to take a seat at the kitchen table. She set an assortment of food down in front of us and gave us empty plates and silverware. She sat down after we had gotten our plates made.     "We don't have a lot of time before they find you. At best we have a week but at worst we have only hours. so unfortunately I have do have to make this brief. Kyle this is not your real name but you hated your christian given name so out of respect I will continue using this one. You were taken to the Academy when you looked sixteen years of age. Having you be what species you are you aged slowly but a bit faster than Austin, meaning you were about two hundred years of age in reality. You have great power but I don't believe you ever found out what seeing as I met you when you were a child and most Elementals start training at adulthood.     "Austin you were the only child of two kingdoms who tried to merge. Clearly that did not work out and your mother kept you while your father returned to his own home starting his family anew. You are to become the most powerful supernatural that had ever lived, almost becoming the ruler of the strongest kingdom of all species. Your memory was right that it burned to the ground but only wrong in the sense that you didn't stay with me for a year, I hid you for close to a decade but with how slowly you age it was like a blink of an eye for you. The Order found you when you were close to three hundred years of age and altered your memory to make it seem as if only a decade in time had passed but in actuality was four centuries.     "Garrett is older than most of the world. He is one of the original members who started the Order Academy. Some of them have perished over time but seeing as he is of the vampire species he will never die unless killed. Their original goal was to bring order into the unruly world of supernaturals but it didn't take long for them to become corrupt and power hungry. The created the Academy many millennia ago with the sole purpose being to kidnap powerful supernatural children and turn them into whatever they needed."     She finally stopped and went silent for a moment. I could feel my head starting to pound as I took in all the new information. Kyle stayed silent no longer touching his food. I didn't know how to start processing all of this. Not even a week ago I had fake memories of only being twenty-two and now I find that I'm an Immortal who is centuries old and is supposed to become the most powerful being that has ever lived. I know Kyle was battling his own internal war.     I spoke tentatively, "if were supposed to be as powerful as everyone says then how can we find this power that we didn't even know we had?"     Dimitra thought for a moment then abruptly got up. "I would start right now but it seems I underestimated our time. Someone just triggered the alarms I set on the outskirts of town. I can sense about five people since so many were triggered and the main leader is heading here rather quickly."     She ran to the walk in pantry the kitchen had and pulled out two swords, handing them to me and Kyle. She yelled out for her sister and daughter while grabbing a set of smaller knives and giving those to us too. I don't know how but her sister and daughter ran in somehow ready for the impending intruders. We didn't have time to process anything else before the door broke open, sickeningly similar to my memory of first being taken. We saw Sandra walk in first, weapons ready, with a group of five behind her, murder in her eyes.
