Chapter 15

"Again!" my trainer yelled at me     I lifted my hand to the statue on my left and when  I flicked my wrist it flew, crashing into the castle's surrounding wall, yards away from us. It hit with so much force the stones of the wall released a large dust cloud and moved outwards, creating a small crater.     "Not good enough, go again!"     I felt myself getting angry and dug my fingernails into my palms, "what do you mean not good enough?" I yelled back at him. "I have been out here for hours and each time I have thrown them with more force!"     He looked at me with an almost bored expression, "you should be able to do this without your hand. Concentrate Austin! For the royal bloodline, you are the weakest I have ever trained."     Something in my brain snapped. It felt almost like a dam that finally gave way under pressure. All the fatigue that I had felt was gone and I could feel myself radiating power. I clenched my fists harder and looked at my trainer. For a quick second I thought I had seen fear flash in his eyes but it was quickly replaced with an arrogant smirk, only making me angrier. I felt my hands get hot and the remaining statues around us started shaking.     I looked at my hands seeing my palms glow slightly. I looked back up and saw the ground starting to shake, the stones of the castle releasing dust, the statues starting to hover. My trainer looked at me now with definite fear in his eyes. He had trouble standing with the ground under him shaking. He fell to his knees, covering his head from the stones starting to fall.     "I am not weak." I said not recognizing my own voice anymore.     I started towards him my hands erupting in flames. I paused for a second to glance at them. I had known that my father was a warlock but I never imagined I would gain the power of fire also. The flames were bright and I felt the heat radiating from it but it did not burn me. I focused again and started walking to my trainer. As I got closer I saw the flames grow larger, almost surrounding me, while the more stones fell and the statues being flung against the walls.     "Alliges duplicia!" my trainer yelled at me.     I didn't know what language he spoke but I suddenly fell to the ground. Everything stopped shaking and my flames disappeared instantly. It was as if time had froze, the only indication that anything happened being the rubble around us. I clutched my head in pain crying out. My mother ran out to me hearing my screams.     "Austin! Are you hurt? What happened?" she asked turning to my trainer.     "Queen my sincerest apologies, I had to bind her power, this," he said throwing his arm around, "was not mother earth it was your daughter. She got angry with me and in the process unlocked a small depth her true power."     My mother gasped in shock. I was confused. I knew my father was a warlock of the neighboring kingdom but even a royal wouldn't have this much power, did they? Yes they could control portions of nature but not enough to create whole disasters. What did my trainer mean by saying this was only a portion of my power. There was no possibility of it, nature struck, it had to, it was sheer coincidence.     "I am deeply sorry Austin but your powers have to stay bound. With anyone unaware of how to control it we can not let this exist, for now. I will return in a fortnight's time. That will give you time to rest and adjust then we will start hand combat so you are not left defenseless."     With that last statement he left. I looked at my mother and saw the struggle in her eyes. She had always told me I would be powerful but I do not believe even she anticipated to this extent.                                             *                                        *                                                *     I gasped sitting up on the bed. Dimitra instantly appeared by my side.     "They bound my power. Dimitra it was awful I almost killed a man." I gasped.     She nodded, running her hand down my hair in a calming way. She didn't look shocked by the news but a bit sad. I gave her a questioning look and she sighed, "I already know Austin. I helped them finish that binding spell and I promise we are going to break this."     I didn't know what to do. I wanted to find out how powerful I actually was but if I lost my tempter like that as a young teenager then what would happen now? There was no one to help then so how could anyone help now? I went to open to open my mouth and ask her but before I could Kyle woke up screaming.
