Chapter 14

Order Garrett's POV     I was on the computer updating the files on the new children brought the other day. Over the years of Austin breaking into our servers we had to start keeping paper files again. I cursed her name again in my head as I saw five hours had already passed on this tedious task. I sighed and closed my eyes. I was just enjoying the heat of the sun when I heard footsteps heading down the hall.     "She's dead!"     Our witch barged into my office slamming my door behind her. Witches aged slowly so the woman looked twenty years old but in reality was closer to three hundred. We needed to keep her close to maintain the borders so she was one of our "teachers". She was close to my height with a slender build. Her hair was an auburn color and eyes a light green-blue. With her being hidden as one of our staff her clothing was simple and plain. A pair of black slacks and white button-up was all she could wear.     "I'm well aware of that. I was the one who sent her on the death mission." I say dismissively. I don't even bother to open my eyes or get out of my chair.     "Garrett you i***t!" She yelled at me and I could feel the anger radiating around her. "You have been alive longer than civilization and you haven't once paused and saw the flaw in your plan? You stupi-,"     I got up before she could blink and had her pinned to the door by her throat. I could sense my eyes had changed to a very dark blue and my fangs started to come out. "Call me stupid once more and I will end your life. You are easily replaceable, it will do you good to remember that."     I let her go and she fell to the ground gasping for breath. Her face was red and tears welled in her eyes. She sat there trying to speak in between coughs, "you don't know what you have done."     I crouched onto the floor and brought my face close to hers, silently warning her. "And what exactly have I done."     She looked into my eyes with anger, "Austin knows who she is."     I was out the door before she finished her sentence. I seethed in anger as I had to agree with her. I was an i***t for letting Austin find out. No more missions I was going to make sure Austin is either with us, and if not, then dead.
