It's the day of winter solstice. This is one of the big holidays celebrated by the Yvarian Fae. It marks the turning of the colder season, with longer days on the way. From the reading I have done and what Elijah has told me, I know that this holiday is viewed as sacred to the Fae, with prayers and sacrifices to the Gods being an integral part of the celebration.
