I woke up this morning feeling… different. I wasn’t expecting to get any sleep, but the exhaustion from the information overload and excessive crying eventually took over. I didn’t dream. I didn’t wake once. It was darkness that consumed me, and it turns out that was just what I needed. When I awoke, I laid in bed and stared at my ceiling for some time. Reality had been demolished. It took a lot of brain power to try and rebuild it. It still didn’t make sense, but I didn’t feel like every cell in my body wanted to implode anymore. I took that as a good sign. There was a message in my phone from Elijah, sent at 3:17am. I hope you’re getting some sleep. I can’t stop thinking about your tear stained face before you drove away. I’m sorry, Grace.
