Chapter 26

1503 Words

I couldn’t sleep last night for thinking too much about this war that happened 75 years ago. Which is a long time to me, but to the Fae people, it’s probably pretty recent. From what Demi continued to tell me, the Aku sound absolutely horrific and I hope to never have to set my eyes on one. But I do plan to learn as much as I can about them. That’s why, when sleep evaded me for long enough, I got out of my comfortable, safe bed, got dressed, and snuck out of the house before Elijah had risen. I did leave a note though, letting him know where I would be. Just in case. The guards at the gate of the Right Wing thankfully remember who I am and open the gates for me without uttering a word. Apprehension blankets me as they lock the gates behind me, but I remind myself that it’s just protocol.
