At that moment, Dawn felt like he was over stepping his friend’s boundaries making him feel embarrassed. His words and actions reflected like he was prying into Sejin’s problems despite of Sejin trying hard to conceal matters regarding his problem. But, I really am prying to his secrets! Come on Dawn! How awkward can you be!?
Sejin subconsciously put his hand on the back of his neck trying hard not to appear affected by his friends comment.
On the other hand, Dawn felt like he was in an absolute mess because he doesn’t have any human interaction for the last five years of his life. He either spent his time thinking about how to die or be buried on his books trying to escape reality.
After that, he was sentenced to prison for attempted r**e he never did and after a year, he was transferred to a mental institution because the people think that he was insane. In those years, Dawn nearly felt like he wanted to die at the very moment for he can’t see any hope in his future. He was just suffering series of outcomes and coincidences that he never knew where they came from. He once came up with an idea that he was cursed or he really had a bad luck.
Struggling to hide his frozen smile, Dawn tried his best to appear casual as if he was asking the weather. “So, your room?” he moved his brows up and down. Trying to let Sejin know that He doesn’t care about anything. Sejin acted fast and walked in front of Dawn guiding him.
Dawn followed Sejin on his room. They were both quiet making things awkward. Dawn clearly blamed himself for tactlessly saying things like that. He didn’t even have a proof of what he was talking about.
He reflected on this matter. Dawn knew how annoying someone was when they acted shameless enough to divulged into your matters not minding the feelings and scars you were trying to hide. For the past years, he hated those people who thought that the feelings you were encountering was because you lacked faith or that you were just saying excuses not to do what you needed to do.
When those moments happened, Dawn wanted to either punch them in the face or or burn them alive as he got tired of explaining every time that he was suffering not because he lacked faith, nor he was just saying excuses but, because he have serious mental health problems and that it was hard to have a battle with your mind for it ended up swallowing you whole without knowing it.
As they walked, Dawn clenched his fist as he reflected on his actions. It felt like I’m not different to those people who always say those things! Dawn, you can’t push people! Dawn reminded himself hoping to come up with another plan on how to help his friends.
He then pushed those thoughts aside for now as he saw Sejin opened a big white door and they entered Sejin’s room.
Sejin’s room was twice as big as Dawn’s room on his mother’s house. There several bookshelves with a lot of fiction books. A white bed, pillows and sheets. There was a T.V on his room and some board games are on the table beside the bed. There was also a black carpet and it felt soft to the feet as they walked.
One minute.
Two minutes
Three minutes.
Time ticked and Dawn felt like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole not leaving any traces. He felt the heaviness of the atmosphere between them. He wasn’t blaming Sejin at all for he knew he caused this. He glanced back at Sejin who was struggling to find some topic to converse with.
For a moment, Sejin seemed like he found an excuse to leave the room as he chuckled, looked at Dawn and said, “Do you like some snacks? I’ll get some.”
Dawn feeling relived can finally breathe as he nodded and said, “Where’s Roen’s room? Let stay there.”
“He doesn’t like people entering in his room, but he might give exception this time since it’s your first time having a sleep over.”
“He’s that sensitive?”
“When it comes to his properties, yes.” Sejin chuckled once more making the atmosphere light enough. They also seemed like they had forgotten the awkwardness and converse normally.
“So, where is his room?” Dawn tossed his bag on the sofa as he removed his shoes. He then replaced it with house slippers that Sejin gave him. Sejin then followed Dawn as they were back again on the hallway.
“Follow this and turn left. His room had the black door.” Sejin pointed the hallway to the left. Hearing the odd color of a door, Dawn’s brows creased.
“Black door?”
Sejin observed the amusement on Dawn’s face as he expected his reaction. “Surprised? He’s kind of emo.”
“Emo!” Dawn was momentarily surprised. For him Roen was not the type of person who would put eyeliners and grow his hair. For Dawn, Roen had an aura of someone who was always mature, who like books and prefers tea over coffee. He was also the type of person who open his mouth only when necessary.
“I get that a lot. But he loves music like all time low and such. He sometimes spend his time on bed and he never came out. Sometimes, it took me a lot of effort to accompany me outside to do some errands.”
“I don’t know. I’m speechless.” Dawn didn’t hide his shock and was eager to walked to Roen’s bedroom. He felt like he will understand his silent friend more and might even peaked his fetish if he has some.
“Okay, I will go and get some snacks. Just knock the door and tell your name. He doesn’t open the door when it’s our parents.”
“Okay” Dawn didn’t ask anything and walked towards the left hallway to find the black door. Since the walls had the color white, the black door really stand out too much. Dawn didn’t hide his smirk and knocked.
“Who is it?” He heard Roen’s voice from the inside.
“It’s me! Dawn! Open the door!” Dawn eagerly said and later on the black door opened. Roen’s figure came to view. He was wearing his pajamas but there was something out of place on his look. Dawn was stunned as he stared for more than a minute.
For a moment, Dawn was stunned as he looked at Roen’s eyes no, the skin under his eyes.
“You’re actually wearing eyeliners!” he can’t help but blurted out. At that very specific moment, Dawn saw a very rare scene he never once saw nine years ago and that was, Roen turning red because of his embarrassment.
He hurriedly left the door and ran inside to get some tissues and wipe off his face. He was even more red when he heard the muffling sound of Dawn’s loud laugh. He wasn’t even trying hard to suppressed his laugh making Roen even more embarrassed.
“You’re actually on those kind of things!” Dawn looking at him with a teasing gaze. He scanned Roen’s room and saw some guitars and piano. Dawn once again knew another part of his friend. So, Roen was the type of guy who loves music.
“I felt betrayed, Roen. I always thought that you’re a mysterious man who loves knowledge and games. How could you hide this fact from the rest of us?!” Dawn exaggerated mimicking Ayase’s response. He even concluded that Ayase would tease Roen so much more if he was here not letting Roen breathe.
On the other hand, Roen grumbled and flopped at his couch. “Stop or I’ll toss you outside!” Roen wanted to do something to his friend who was laughing none stop and mocking him. He previously saw the new released music of All time law and panic at the disco he wanted to try the image he saw on the music video but seemed like he did it in the wrong time. Damn it!
He felt like someone had stripped him naked and was tossed out on the road for everyone to see. He subconsciously looked around confirming that his brother was not here or else he would suffer another burn from their teasing.
Dawn who was in the verge of dying because of his laughter making his stomach ached can’t take it anymore as he laugh out loud causing him to stumble and lay on the floor wiping his eyes because of the tears.
“Roen the emo guy!”
"Just shut up!"
