Four years later… …Her head was aching badly. Ivy walked robotically into the noise filled bar,ear splitting pop music burst from the loud speakers ,laughter , chattering and the pungent smell of alcohol rented the air. She walked to the counter, her face stained with tears and slipped into one of the bar stools. “What do you care for , ma'am?”The young bartender asked her. Ivy buried her head in her palm, her body shook in silent sob.She had had enough ,she was tired of life itself. The world had just been so cruel to her,she was unemployed and gradually getting Tangled in the web of abject poverty. She had almost been struggling to survive with her younger brother who was somewhere looking for how to get food on their table. Ivy sniffed and pushed her hair back from her face, looking up at the bartender. “A glass of whiskey, please,”She muttered. He gave her a look before nodding and turning to get what she had requested for. Tears stung at the back of her eyes and she drifted her eyes close, letting the music, laughter and chattering slid into her ears. The bartender came out and slid a glass of whiskey to her,she grabbed it and gulped down the liquor and let it burn down her throat. She slammed the glass back on the counter and grimaced, she took a deep breath glad at the effect it was taking on her. “More”She muttered again. The bartender slipped away again and she buried her face into her palm again, tears slipping down her face. Her chest was hurting and she felt so much pain, she was tired of everything that was happening,if only she could just find a better way to ease her pain. The bartender came again with the refill, she grabbed it from his hands and started gulping down her whiskey. She coughed and spattered the liquid over the counter,Ivy shot up from the stool feeling as light as a feather. She slipped the last money she had from her pocket and slammed it in the counter , walking shakily away and into the crowd. Her legs seemed like jellyfish as she walked into the deafening noise of partying people, her hair fell to her face in a cloudy mess as she edged her way. She bumped into a figure who was walking briskly to the opposite direction and cursed under her breath. Ivy looked up and she almost staggered at the person who stood towering before her. Her eyes widened and everything seemed to go on a stand still for a moment, her heart jammed in her chest. “Ivy ?''He called ,quite uncertainly. Aaron looked down on the lady before him and had a cross of shock and surprise across his face. Was he seeing right , imagining things ? or perhaps had his head headache so bad with all the thoughts he had that he was starting to go crazy? Ivy 's heart was pounding now against the walls of her chest,it couldn't be.No,it just can't be. After so many years, she was seeing him…she was seeing the man that had caused her so much pain ,the man who had made her life miserable. “Ivy ”He called again He reached out to touch her but she flung his hands away quickly and took a step back away from him. “Get your hands off me!”Ivy yelled but her voice was only lessened by the noise. “Ivy ,”He called again. He felt so much relief seeing her after four years,he had searched everywhere for her,he had always prayed to find her and now ,here she was. “Ivy ,I've been looking all over for you.You don't know how happy I am to see you,”He gushed Aaron stared down at her,his heart was hurting,he felt hurt by her words,if only she could listen to what he had to say. If only she could explain to him he why she had to leave in the first place “Don't say that, Ivy ,when I looked all over for you but you were nowhere in sight,I did come back for you,”He tried to explain. “I don't care,Aaron . You are the reason why all this is happening to me, you're the reason why I'm this way,”She yelled,”Just go away because I don't want to see you, just go away” “Ivy , please,wait...”He reached out quickly and held her back,”I don't understand,I didn't do anything to you... you just decided to go away" She snatched her hand away from his hold, her eyes burning with so much anger and hatred. “Please,Aaron. Just let me be, pretend you didn't see me because I don't want to ever see you again"She spat. He could see the pain in her eyes,he was in pain too. He had never gotten away from the pain he had felt when he had woken up that day and she was nowhere to be found. That same pain he had also felt when he came back but couldn't find her.He couldn't get his mind off her even after spending a night with her so he had looked everywhere for her. He couldn't trace her because the only information he had about her was his name and nothing more. She turned away quickly with tears in her eyes and ran across the crowd. He wanted to stop her but she was fast. He knew she was drunk but what had she meant by everything she said,he was the one who was supposed to be hurt here not her. He had hoped and prayed to see her again but it had been four years without setting his eyes on her. But she seemed different now,the lady that stood before him some seconds ago wasn't like the young girl he had met years ago. “Ivy !”He called But she had disappeared into the crowd..leaving him cold.
