"That's bullshit!” Aaron yelled, banging the door to his office as he stormed in like a tornado.
His mother, Alvira Raymonds followed closely behind him. She wondered if she would be able to calm her son. She knew in this mood of his, no one would escape his fury.
“Calm down, son. We can still sort this out” She soothed.
“Bullshit” He spat again, pacing to and fro the length of his office. “Father must be freaking kidding me in his grave right now.
Aaron wasn't ready to settle down just yet. He was still young and had a lot of time for that marriage s**t. And now they were telling him this was his only option.
“Darling, it's all for your own good” Alvira told him, “Your father had always meant the best for you.”
“I guess he made a mistake on this one,” Aaron said. "I am not ready for marriage and you know it! Not even now or anytime soon”
“Aaron,” Alvira called easily “You need the inheritance. Your father had made it clear that the will wouldn't be read until you have presented a wife to the family.”
He flashed her a look
“Aaron, come on. It's not that difficult, how about you just fix dates? You never can tell if you might just meet someone you'd like and perhaps fall in love with” She suggested.
“I am too busy for that crap” He returned, settling on the edge of his desk .
“You can never be too busy to find love. It might as well come right up to your desk” Alvira said, trying to make him see her point.
“Father must have watched a whole lot of Telenovelas to have come up with this crap but news flash, they had all better come up with another idea” He said.
“I'll talk to the lawyer, see if there's anything we could do but I doubt if there is any,” Alvira said, “You heard what he said, your father made it very clear you had a wife before the inheritance”
“I need to be left alone,” Aaron said solemnly, not looking at her.

“No, no , no….What does that mean? Will she be okay? Her voice trembled.
“It means her kidneys are failing, Ivy. It is very serious. She needs to have kidney transplant surgery as soon as possible for her to recover.
“A transplant? How... How is that even possible? How soon does she need it?” She starts crying.
“She needs it urgently”He said
“Oh no” Ivy whispered
He hung up.
She got to the hospital in a rush. She met with the doctor and was taken to the lab to get tested.
The doctor came back after a while. She was anxious. She could feel something was wrong.
“I'm sorry, but the tests came out negative. You are not a compatible match for your mother.” He said, looking sympathetic.
“My God! How do we find a donor in time?” She asked the doctor.
“There isn't time but we can continue to search. Additionally, the process can be expedited if we can secure funds to cover the additional costs associated with a faster search and the subsequent surgery.” He told her.
“How much money are we talking about, Dr. Stevens?” She asked sniffling.
“A $100,000 deposit. It is a huge amount, but it would help us hasten the process of saving your mother.”
She opened her mouth in shock.
“$100,000? I… That's a lot of money I don't have” she said, devastated. “There's no way I could raise that amount in such a short time”
“I'm so sorry,miss"
“I’ll try to find ways to raise the money but please don't let anything happen to my mom” Tears were gathering in her eyes.
“We will do everything we can do to help stabilize her. Meanwhile, you can start looking for how to raise the money.”
Ivy stood there as the doctor excused himself, she felt weakened by everything the doctor said.Where was she going to get that kind of money?
What would she do now?
Ivy trolled round the city in search of a job,she was badly in need of one . She couldn't just sit down and watch her mother's condition get worse, she just can't.
"There's nothing I can do ,miss, the vacancy has been taken"The receptionist of a company she had walked into told her.
Ivy clasped her hands together," Please,I really need a job badly I don't care whatever it is,I can do it...you see,my mum is sick, her condition is getting worse and the doctor said she needs a kidney transplant urgently"
The receptionist gave her a pitiful look,"I'm so sorry to hear that but my hands are tied...if you had come earlier maybe you could have gotten the job and my boss, he's about heading home"
Tears flowed down Ivy's cheeks, she swallowed the lump that was forming in her throat but she wasn't going to give up.
"The doctor said I'd need to come up with the sum of $100,000 within a week...I don't know how to raise that type of money "She told him,"I can do whatever you want,i can be the janitor or driver or whatever,i just need to raise money so badly_"
"What is going on here?"
Startled, the receptionist looked past Ivy while Ivy quickly wiped her eyes, she drew in a deep breath and lowered her face.
"I'm sorry, sir. But this lady said_"The receptionist was saying.
"I wasn't deaf,I overheard what she said...who are you,young lady?"He asked.
Ivy drew in a deep breath and turned to face whoever it was and her eyes widened as she stared at the last person she had hoped to see.
"Aaron?"She whispered.
Aaron stared back at her,he was surprised to see her again after wondering if he'd ever get to see her again from the bar incident.
His heart skipped a beat,"Ivy…?"
