I couldn't scream anymore when the horse jumped over the gate. I didn’t know whether it was because I was so amazed that a horse could jump so high, or because I was scared out of my mind. But whatever it was, my eyes were wide open and I couldn’t seem to shut them.
At least until the horse landed gracefully on the other side of the gate. That made me gasp and blink back into my senses.
I turned my head and looked at Whati, who was leaning over me and had his eyes looking out at the road. “Where are you taking me?” I asked.
“Why does that matter?” He asked. “This is your first horse ride. Enjoy the ride!”
