Amber's POV
We danced like that through the song, coming to a stop near Mato and the three men. "Ah Amber," Mato grinned to me "Hawk," he bowed slightly. "I wanted to introduce you to the Alphas that helped bring this together." He nodded to the large men near him.
Each one different in their facial features. "Gentlemen," Hawk spoke as he placed his hand around my waist. I noticed each man glanced between Hawk and I.
"Nice to meet you both," The green eyed, dark brown haired man, spoke. "I am Alpha Asher of the Blue Moon pack."
"Hello," the man with the blue almost grey eyes with black hair and a bit of age to his eyes "I am Alpha Zane of the Red Sky pack."
"Great to meet you both," The last of the men with amber colored eyes and light brown hair. His face similar to Mato "I am Alpha Leo of the Misfits," He glanced at Mato. "That big lug is my great uncle." He smirked.
"Nice to meet you all," I smiled. "I am Amber and this is my mate Hawk." I peeked at Mato to see his reaction. His grin grew wide hearing that.
"Both of you are new here?" I head Alpha Leo ask.
"We are, I was a one of the people Mato has saved." Giving Mato a smile.
The men nodded, "Who was the fighter that dealt with the last group?" Alpha Zane queried Mato.
"Yeah we heard he took them all out including the were cat and the Southern wolf." Alpha Asher chimed in.
"He has been tight lipped about who it was." Another voice chimed in. Dex of the Fab 4 joined us. He was intently looking at me.
I felt uncomfortable under his gaze. I wrapped an arm around Hawk's waist to get a little closer. "He doesn't want to be in the spotlight." Mato announced to the group. "So, I let it be." He shrugged. A server was walking past with drinks. "Would guys care for a drink?"
The Alphas gladly took one, "I am working, Maybe after." Dex spoke. Still intently looking at me.
"I would advise, getting your eyes off Amber," I heard Hawk's low rumble. I looked up to see him glaring at Dex.
"My apologies," Dex moved his eyes to look at Hawk. "I have, to say she is breathtaking to look at." A devilish smirk on his lips and a wild spark in his eyes.
"My mate is indeed stunning," Hawk agreed. He stressed the words "my mate," even stressing the t in the word. His eyes never leaving Dex.
"You have not marked her?" There was a challenge hidden in the words from Dex. Even I noticed it.
"No, " I started still holding Hawk's waist. "He is waiting per my request until I get my past sorted." I looked up to Hawk, he looked down at me his lips turned up slightly before going back to staring intently at Dex.
"Ah, how long were you there?" Dex seemed to think it all was amusing.
"I was stolen from my family at six, raped, tortured and fed on until just a few months ago." I spoke matter of factually. I felt Hawk give me kiss to the top of my head.
Dex's gaze snapped to me, shock flashed across his face. I heard a few sharp intakes of breaths from the Alphas. So I continued, "Mato has been very kind and Momma Dee in helping me heal." I leaned my head against Hawk's side. "I found Hawk in the forest when I got lost. He brought me back to them. Having not left my side since."
"I see," Dex glanced back to Hawk. "I am guessing you fight?"
"Only when needed," Hawk's answer was short.
"Hawk, trained with my father and a few others his age." Mato announced. "He has been teaching Amber how to now." I could see a proud fatherly look on Mato's face.
Dex c****d his head to the side, "how old are you?"
"I am not entirely sure," Hawk shrugged a smirk forming on his lips.
Before Dex could question him any more "Hawk can we grab a drink?" I looked at him expectantly.
"Of course Ma Cháñte." He smiled. Turning me to go, I felt a hand whack something quickly. Looking back, I seen Dex had reached out his hand toward me and it had been knocked back by Mato.
"I would suggest you get back to your duties," Growled Mato to Dex.
Hawk lowered his head in salute to Mato and lead me away from the group. Going to the refreshment table, I grabbed a water bottle there. Hawk did the same. "I don't like the way Dex looked at me." I spoke softly. Before I tilted the water to drink.
"He wanted to fight me." Hawk spoke, there was a tinge of anger in his voice.
"Why?" Surprise in my words and face.
"Because he wants a name for himself." He glanced down at me. "It's his age that causes it." I watched his brown eyes stare at Dex who was back to his station.
"What if we did it per training?" I placed my hand on his clenched fist. I felt his hand relax.
"What do you suggest?" Hawk gave me a curious look.
"Mato mentioned you were training me, perhaps you could use him to show me some new things?" I giggled. "You mentioned I keep the beast away, perhaps it would work?"
"I will think about it." Hawk took hold of my hand that had been a fist before. "I did not like him looking at you like that." It was a low growl, that escaped his lips. I was not afraid. I knew it was directed at Dex. The words warmed my chest and sent heat down my body to make my stomach dance.
"I did not like it either," I agreed and leaned into his arm.
Hawk wrapped his arm around me, hauling closer to his side then just leaning against the arm. I felt comfortable there and safe.
As the party continued I seen Cherie and Anna both find their mates. They looked like they were in instant love. Rea too, found hers. People danced and slowly wandered off towards their home. New mates spent the night in the buildings that had been brought in.
Hawk glanced down at me to see I was hiding my yawn behind his arm. "Come on Ma Cháñte, it is time for sleep." Then he scooped me up and with even strides carried me from the party. I snuggled into his chest not caring who saw me. I was safe in his arms, knowing nothing could get me.
