Dangerous Heart (Completed)

Worry

Amber's POV

The howl of Hawk's beast was chilling. I felt it leave the area. Shortly after I felt his presence come back like it was hovering over me.

I heard Dex try to call me out, then him walking away. I heard the voice of one of the men who haunted my nightmares. I could feel him coming closer. Tears streaming down my face as silent sobs wrecked havoc on my body. I felt, the Earth shiver as a primal voice bounced off the stone wall. It sent shivers down my spine. I reminded myself it was Hawk. He said he would not hurt me.

Peeking down through blurry vision of my tears, I could make out massive black paws. The claws dug into the man who had hurt me. I could hear him asking questions but my mind was not making sense of the words at the moment. His face brought back memories of things:

(Flash back)

"No, No please." the younger me squealed, crawling on my back trying to get away. My clothes riped from his clawed hands.

"You are mine to do with as I see fit." He growled. "You are old enough. No come here!" He roared with a cat like hiss.

"Please, don't" Tears poured out of my eyes as I hugged myself hoping he couldn't pry my arms away.

One of his clawed hands snaked out grabbing my ankle, yanking me with a scream back to him.. I felt the blood dribble from my ankle as claws raked off flesh and my remaining clothes. My screams deafening my own ears.

(Flash back end)

"Ma Cháñte," I heard Hawk's voice from the opening of the little cubby I was in.

I blinked back the memory, I seen a headless body in the distance and Hawk's kneeling form at the entry way.

"Ma Cháñte, it is ok." Hawk's hand reached in to help me out.

My body failed me a moment, while I glanced one more time to the body behind him. The man was dead. One of them, who had hurt me was dead. I took a deep breath, shaking I reached my hand into his.

Gently he helped me out and up. Tears flowing from my eyes non-stop. I instinctively wrapped my arms around his waist, holding tightly as my face pressed against his lower chest. His arms came around me, tightly bringing me closer to him.

"He is gone now," Hawk whispered above my head. "No longer can he hurt you." I felt him kiss the top of my head.

I leaned back, to look at him with my hazy vision, his hair the way I like, out of the braid and free. He cupped my cheeks as, as he leaned down to kiss me. I didn't stop him, I snaked my arms up and around his neck bringing him closer. Our lips met, you could feel the worry, passion and need in his kiss. His arms wrapping tighter around my waist as he lifted me up off the ground. On passion alone I wrapped my legs around his hips. Giving in, to need myself.

We broke apart for air, chests heaving our foreheads touching. "I need you closer," he growled. I shifted slightly my legs still holding onto his hips, and my arms locked around his neck.

I kissed him again, I felt his bulge harden, between the heat of my legs. His hands moved down to grip my ass pulling my hips closer. I could feel his chest rumble against mine.

"Hawk, Amber?" both of us heard Mato's concerned words.

Hawk released me instantly as I slid down the length of his body back to the ground. Hawk's chest still rumbling. "Dex's sister was taken. He was working for the were cat that hurt Amber," A growl erupted from Hawk as his voice said the words.

"Then I can assume that is the were cat?" Mato looked down at the headless body.

"Yes," Hawk's arm made its way around my waist. "They said they were gene splicing and creating breeders. Amber was the only one to survive the process." Hawk looked down at me. Wrapping his other arm around me, he held me close.

"hmmm," Mato looked back at the body. You could see him rotating thoughts through his mind. "There have been rumors of a place creating supernatural hybrids."

"He," Hawk jerked his head to the dead were cat. "mentioned marking her would stop their plans." I saw his brown eyes dart to mine and back to Mato. "They want her to help them figure out why she survived and the rest didn't." I felt him tighten his grip on my a little out of reaction to his own words.

"Marking seals the mate bond, if she is a hybrid it is possible she would withstand your mark. But, can you control your beast enough to mark her and if so does that link her to Lilth as well?" Mato looked between us.

I was sure he could control his beast, but the link to Lilth is what terrified me. "We can mark her, but the link to Lilth will need to be checked." The voice I heard was low, gravely and creepy. It must have been his beast. His eyes were squeezed shut.

I wrapped my arms around his waist, snuggling my face into his side. His arms tightened around me. There was nothing said for a moment until I felt Hawk kiss the top of my head. "We have a lot to think about, Ma Cháñte." He muttered above my head.

"Take Amber back to the house," Mato stated. "We will let the forest clean this up and rest a while." I could see him deep in thought while he looked at the man's body.

I looked up to see, Hawk smile at me. "Let's go back to the house." Not letting me go we followed the forest trail back.

Momma Dee stood clutching her chest, on the back porch. She trotted down the stairs as we crossed the training yard. "I am glad you are ok," She cooed. She did not come very close, but hands holding her chest in worry. A worried gaze glancing to Hawk now and then.

"Hawk, kept me safe." I gave her a weak smile then snuggled back into Hawk's side as we walked up the steps to the back door.

Hawk walked with me up stairs, to the room "I am going to go chat with Mato, would you like me to bring some food up?" Hawk was kneeling in front of me as I sat at the edge of the bed.

I nodded, playing with a lock of his long black hair. "I like it down," I mumbled looking the strands I was playing with.

"Then, when we are in here, I will leave it down." He tipped my chin up, placing a feather light kiss on my lips. As he stood, I let his hair escape my fingers. "I will be back in just a bit." His voice soft as he grabbed his hair to wrap his a tie into a low hanging pony tail as he went out the door.
