CARISSA POV
“You lied to me!” I watched secretly as Kane roared. He pressed Kim to the tree trunk, his hand tight around her neck. He watched the colour change on her face as she frantically scratched at his hand.
“N-no—” Kim struggled to breathe.
“You told me you had nothing to do with CC going missing. You lied to me.” I could tell this realization blindsided him, and that left him angry. If the council learned he helped cover up a crime, he would be smeared, even unknowingly. Everyone knew he dismissed the accusations from his Beta since I went missing. He intentionally roadblocked every step my father made to find me because he was confident that my mother and the others were telling him the truth. He believed that my father was driven by madness, but the accusations were not true.
