The fifth annual Oakspell Scientific Discovery Awards, someone said, had finally become something worth attending. For the last few years, it was simply another notch on the calendar that did not signify anything much. There were the usual Science Quiz Bee champions and little milestones that scientific and medical groups had achieved.
