Alisha’s POV
“You can’t own me!“ I uttered firmly as I stomped my feet on the ground with my eyes staring directly into Sebastian’s.
“I’m not something you just decide to own and…” my words caught in my throat when I heard footsteps approaching. My heart raced, my blood gushed and it felt like it was going to dry up inside my body as an old man walked into the house.
I would recognize him anywhere and behind him was the lady that was with us earlier. My heart thumped so loud that I felt like I was going to go deaf from the sound.
“Grandpa?” Sebastian called, he was shocked but his surprise soon disappeared when his grandfather stopped in front of him.
My eyes darted to the woman from earlier and I could swear that she brought the man here just to stare up trouble. Heat rose through my body and at the same time I felt cold.
Unable to stare at the Alpha of Alphas. My head dropped and my mouth parted slightly, “Alpha.” I muttered with a respectful bow but he didn’t say anything.
Knowing I couldn’t remain in that position forever, I lifted my head to see that the man was staring at me intently, it was as though he was trying to point out something wrong with me.
My gaze darted to Sebastian and I could also feel the cold stare that he shot the woman behind his grandfather.
“We were just having breakfast, join us.” Sebastian said as politely as possible and being a man of little words, the Alpha only made his way to the table and took his seat.
Sebastian snapped his fingers and maids started tripping out. My jaw felt weak as my mouth dropped open, no one would ever know that there were maids in this house.
They set the table and served the Alpha with a bow of their heads, neither of them daring to look him in his eyes as Sebastian dismissed them.
“What brings you here?” Sebastian asked and the man’s gaze shot up at once. The man looked like the really older version of Sebastian.
They had the same cold glare, they barely spoke unless absolutely necessary. The man cut his pancake and ate before letting out a satisfied sigh.
“You of all people should know why I’m here.” The man finally said, it was the most words he’d spoken since he came into the house.
“Yes,” Sebastian responded, he looked like he wouldn’t regard anyone but I could tell that he respects his grandfather.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t show up yesterday,” Sebastian explained, “I got caught up with a lot of things.” He finished but the sound of the woman’s snort caused all, except the old man’s head to turn in her direction.
“Do you have something to say, Megan?” The old man asked and I could see her throat bob as she swallowed but the hatred she had for me seemed to be more than the fear she had for Sebastian because she began walking towards him.
“I’m sorry, Alpha but you just have to know,” Megan started. My palms were already beginning to get sweaty. I already knew what she was going to say to the old man and I knew what my punishment would be.
“You should know that this coquette tried to seduce Alpha Sebastian,” she started and my chest tightened as my eyes looked in the direction of Sebastian.
His eyebrow raised and his lips pressed in a thin line as he listened to what Megan was saying. He didn’t say anything to defend or help me out of this mess that we both got in.
I forced down the bile at the back of my throat as I kept gazing at my feet. Lots of thoughts ran through my mind and the only thing that kept ringing in my head was how I was supposed to run away but my feet remained glued to the ground.
The man cleared his throat and the next thing that came out of his mouth was something I wasn’t expecting.
“Look at me,” The man ordered and I slowly lifted my head to gaze into his dark eyes, “how old are you?” He asked and I swallowed again.
My mouth opened but I couldn’t form a coherent word. How was I going to tell him that I’m twenty-two and just had an affair with his thirty-five years old grandson?
“Also, how long have you known Seb?” He asked with his first smile since he walked in and cold chills ran down my spine.
Although the nickname was funny, his stares were intense and they caused fear to creep through my veins so I settled for a slight smile.
My legs shook and a huge part of me wanted to do a happy dance because of how Megan’s plans backfired on her. I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that she intended to belittle me in front of the Alpha of Alphas but it didn’t work.
The man was smiling at me and asking me questions about how long I’ve known his grandson and now that I think about it I really need to talk or he’s going to think I’m dumb for some reason.
“I’m…. I’m twenty-two, Alpha.” I stuttered, I wasn’t at ease. There was no way that I could possibly be at ease because I’m literally standing in front of Alpha of Alphas Lyon Carlton.
It was like meeting with the entire clan. I took a look at Sebastian and he didn’t look surprised or uncomfortable at all which began to make me uncomfortable.
“It must be so nice to be young?” He smiled as he dabbed at the side of his lips with the napkin on the table.
“She’s a good one?” He asked his grandson who flashed him the same kind of smile and I just felt like yanking my own hair out of my head out of frustration.
Megan’s face had turned bright red in anger. She must really hate how everyone keeps ignoring and talking over her like she isn’t there, she deserves it but I still felt sorry for her.
“It’s settled down,” the old man said as he tried to stand up, “you should be prepared to get married.” He finished and I almost choked on my spit.
There is no way that I just heard him right. Did he just say we should prepare to get married?
“No, Alpha King!” Megan protested immediately but the old man only ignored her as he shot her a glare before walking past her.
“She’s not good for him,” Megan continued as she walked behind him, “I know you want Seb to have babies but I don’t think she would be able to give him any and besides—“
“Shut up!” Lyon yelled and the entire room shook as Megan and I jumped in fear.
“They’re getting married whether you like it or not.”
