Chapter 3- Him?
“Abyzou…? What a pleasant surprise or should I just say…good to see you again, Sonia”. He muttered and shifted his gaze behind him. There she was, kneeling down in the dark and in the cold. She had a knee down and the other up, left palm to the ground and right, just above the shoulder. Her eyes were dark and cold, just like her master. She was still in her maiden dress and slowly raised her eyes to him. Muttering in a cold emotionless voice.
“Good to see you too, Lord Belmont”.
“Indeed…how are the wedding preparations going? He asked looking the opposite direction.
“Everything is as planned sir. I have already given her the little unsettling treatment of a bad dream”. Sonia replied, still on her keels.
“Humph. She seems like a handful”. He lamented and scratched his nose.
“I believe we can handle this one like we have with the others. I already made sure of that”. Sonia replied with boldness.
“Really? What gives? He chuckled in surprise to hear her say that.
“Her family already received the gift of her demise. The jewelries, gold bedding, bags, shoes and dresses. The greed on their faces lit up more when they got the cheque. A million British pounds, seems like a way to buy their love”. Sonia chuckled and watched his face lit up.
“Indeed. We will give her about a month, before moving on to final phase”. He replied and stepped away from Sonia as though he was leaving the alley.
“ A month? But…that’s too long, she could get alarmed by anything. I know it”. Sonia snapped almost getting up her knee posture. This is immediately caught on by her master, whose gaze is like a piercing to the soul. Sonia catches his gaze and holds herself together.
“I said… a month. I want to see this one break down and lose it all. Besides, all of them claim to be strong but lose themselves in the end”. He said in a calm voice, still the rain drops hasn’t fallen yet.
“Yes! My lord”.
“Now…then. I forbid you from calling me Belmont, call me by my actual name…else I’ll kill you. Understood?
“Certainly, my Lord”. She replied shifting her visual from his.
As the first rain drop hits the ground, Sonia is no longer in sight. Vanished or perhaps disappeared from the face of her master, who had already reached the end of the alley, emerging from the other street. He is met by the butler, who is remarkably surprised that his master’s coat isn’t wet by the rain.
They get into the carriage and start riding down the road, the master is quiet as ever. Eyes cold and calculating as he feint a smile across his face, whispering to his deviled self.
“Your wrong Sonia, I will get it all back…using Sapphire. My emotions and unconsciousness, everything you little demon took from me. I will get it all back”.
Back at the Belmont mansion, Sapphire is seen in kitchen trying to get a glass of water. She placed the cup in the sink and fetches water. Taking a sip of it, before going all in. She stops and breathes heavily, the night was quiet and cold as Sonia had said earlier. She could hear dogs barking in a distance and see the flickering lights of the pavement.
“The same dream. I wonder who the lady is…in the bridal gown”. Sapphire mutters to herself as she felt a strange feeling of being watched, even in her own room. She had encountered the same dream of a woman in a gown, pleading for her to run, while screaming in her ears.
“Ugh…! Today is meant to be the wedding and I barely have gotten any sleep” . Sapphire complained and took another gulp of her water. “How bizarre”. She muttered to herself and attempted to drop the cup back.
“Mi lady?! Sonia called out and it creeped Sapphire, who almost fall over. She tried to calm herself down and gave Sonia a dirty look as she emerged from the dark lobby. “Sorry, I startled you…I didn’t mean to. However I did hear footsteps trailing downstairs and I sought to investigate”.
“Hmmm…I apologize for making such a fuss on my way down. I only desired a glass of water, since my throat went dry and stuff”. Sapphire replied avoiding her gaze.
“Of course. Anything else I can perhaps do for you? Sonia asked and heard Sapphire yawning. She shakes her head in disagreement and made her way upstairs.
In a couple of hours, Sapphire found herself in a cathedral church with a young gentle man. The chants from the loyal members, who adore and wished well for the couple. Sapphire wasn’t comfortable as she was sure the man she was with wasn’t her Lord Belmont. She kept her gaze away from him as the pope went preaching about love and commitment. Sapphire was distrusting this fellow she considered her husband. He wasn’t even coming for the wedding but instead sent some assistant here, to represent him. Sapphire grumped as she thought to herself, occasionally fixing her eyes at the nonchalant Sonia, who kept smiling remotely.
“At least you shaved his breads and dressed decent. Hold it in Sapphire, this won’t last forever”. She thought to herself, faking a smile at the gentle man, who was average height and showed a scared face.
Right in the middle of church, the huge door cracked open and a floating air filled with red roses, made their way into the church alter. Followed shortly by a thudding footstep and an excited look on Sapphire’s face. It was Lord Belmont himself, walking down the aisle with flower filled air. He had a cheeky smirk on his face and wore a long leather jacket, gloves and high boots.
“Lord... Belmont”. The ladies whispered and the men eyed his chaotic entrance. He walked up to an already captivated Sapphire, who was caught and attracted to his gaze. He waved off his jacket and left it the hands of his assistant, a tall, slender figure of a man with a warm smile to his face.
“My princess, Sapphire. The only one my heart knows and beats for. I trust you till the very end, I’ll be with you till death do us path…my one true love”. Lord Belmont muttered and had Sapphire blushing.
Lord Belmont rose from his knees and brushed her jeweled fingers with his pink lips. Sapphire got attracted to those black eyes that spelt darkness and the lips that barely talked. He looked lively but is rather cold and calculating. Unlike his assistant, Belmont dislike conversations that lasted, he hated being asked questions or not being replied. His smile spilled lies that romances the heart and face preached a gentle sermon.
Feared by man and honored by all, Lord Belmont us a mystery man despite his assumption if his family name. A lonely cheerful man, with a feeling that overrides all. Clothes in his favorite black leather suit, boots, gloves, button down shirt and tie.
He took a spot opposite Sapphire who was drowned in his gaze, as though he could see her soul and cleanse it. According to Sapphire, the man before her was beyond handsome and beautiful, beyond calm and cold…he was like a sunflower with emotions. This man got the ladies whispering and gushing for him. This man was wealthy, powerful and could influence everyone or anything. This man was LORD LEVI BELMONT.
