A Month Earlier
I just got off from working a double shift at the small diner in town, I walk out to my car excited to get home to surprise Jason. My boyfriend Jason and I live in a modern apartment in the city, today is our 2-year anniversary and I plan to surprise him with a sexy new outfit I bought and his favorite dinner. Jason and I met in my 2nd year of college, he has blonde hair and bright blue eyes that light up the room. I park the car and hop in the back seat to change into the green lingerie set that makes my red long wavy hair and green eyes stand out. I zip up my knee-high heel boots and throw on a trench coat and make my way up to our apartments with the Marcos takeout bag.When I get to the door I get this sinking feeling in my stomach something doesn’t feel right, I put the key in the lock and open up the apartment door. Hm, I wonder where Jason is he should be home by now. I put the bag on the kitchen counter and hear a sound coming from the bedroom and my heart starts to sink. oh no please no not this, slowly I make my way to the bedroom door and turn the knob throwing the door open.
The sight I walk in on has my heart in my stomach, My boyfriend bending my step sister Elena over our bed pounding into her. My eyes widen in shock taking in the situation in front of me. I gasp in shock as Jason looks up and locks eyes with me scurrying away from Elena. “Aurelia what are you doing here I thought you were working a double. This isn’t what It looks like baby its just a little fun” he tells me stepping closer to me, I take a step back and look over at Elena who is naked on my bed smirking at me. A wave of disbelief and anger wash over me as I realize he’s been leading me on. “ A little fun? It’s our anniversary you f*****g scumbag” I scream at him I turn to Elena “ You are nothing but a nasty little w***e, sleeping with my boyfriend, what the hell is wrong with you I’m your sister for f***s sake.” I yell at her who just smirks in response “Thank god you found out because I was getting tired of dealing with your pathetic ass every day. I only started getting close with you so I could get closer to Jason, sweetheart I’ve been screwing him for months” Elena says. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing they have been sleeping together for months right under my nose. I was just starting to build a relationship with my stepsister and to find out she was doing this the whole time behind my back really broke my heart. I genuinely wanted to have a relationship with her. I was angry and hurt, I stormed over to the bed and slapped Elena straight in the face “You really think your something special huh? You’ve just burnt your bridges with me b***h. When he hurts you, and you need a sister to lean on you will be alone but I will be there only to rub it in your face you w***e” I tell her and spin around and turn on my heel to look at Jason eyes blazing with rage “You get your tiny f*****g d**k out of my house right now, both of you” I tell him tears streaming down my face. I throw his shirt in his face and push them both out the door slamming it shut in their face before they can say anything.
Leaning against the front door I let myself slide to the floor and sob uncontrollably. How could this happen I know I’ve been focused on my studies, but I was just trying to build a career for myself. How could I be so stupid to not notice I was being played right in front of my face. I slowly get up and lay down in the guest room not wanting to be in the room they were just screwing each other in and nod of into a dreamless sleep.
A week later
“Aurelia I know that things are tough right now but you’ve got to get out of bed babe” my best friend Brooklyn plops down on the bed beside me. She came over the day after I found out Jason was cheating on me and has insisted on staying with me to cheer me up, so far I’ve spent the last week in bed with tons of takeout, cheap wine and reality tv.. “B, I just feel so damn dumb, I mean how did I not notice what was happening” I ask feeling the lump in the back of my throat rising as I take a long drink of my wine. “Honey I know it sucks but you’re to good for this you need to show everyone what a badass you are, show them you aren’t going to let this break you” she tells me. I have to give it to her this girl knows how to get me going. I laugh at her “I mean I just can’t believe they are already posting on the socials as a couple” Two days after I kicked Jason and Elena out they started going public with their relationship. It’s been really embarrassing having people around campus sending me their selfies and posts. “Okay enough of this we are going out, to this hot ass new club in the city so go shower and get ready” she says flicking on my tv and waving me off into the bathroom. I sigh “fine but only for a few drinks” I say before hopping in the shower. I’m not going to let Jason have this kind of power over me anymore.
